APPLICATION All students must be nominated by the international coordinator of their home institution. All students are expected to have B2 level in English. Both the learning and training agreement need to be filled in electronically. - Copy of passport or ID-card (from both sides) APPLICATION PROCEDURE First send the scanned version of the documents to Heili Sõrmus (heili.sormus@ttk.ee). Both the international office and the respective Chair will look through the documents to see if anything needs to be added, specified or changed. The standard workload per semester is 30 ECTS. On the level of vocational education ECTS is not used.

In case your practical training placement is located outside of Tallinn, we will help to find suitable accommodation for you. Most hospitals have apartments in their building complex, where you can stay for a very reasonable price. VISA Please read information about the visa from the homepage of Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.vm.ee RESIDENCE PERMIT All incoming students from the European Union who stay in Estonia for longer than 90 days must first register themselves at the local municipality and thereafter at the citizenship and migration bureau. The student will receive an ID-card of the Republic of Estonia, which can be widely used, for instance for giving digital signatures, identifying oneself in a virtual environment, borrowing books from the library. Please read more at www.tallinn.ee INSURANCE We recommend you to have travel insurance. European Health Insurance Card is obligatory. In case you cannot apply for a European Health Insurance Card, it is obligatory to have health insurance coverage in Estonia. MEALS Kännu 67 building of the has a cafeteria, which provides high quality food for a reasonable price. Lunch costs 2 4 euros. ESTIMATED COST OF LIVING Place at the student hostel, including rent, electricity, water, heating, internet, costs 55 140 euros per month. Deposit for the dormitory key card is 10 euros. Estonian ID-card costs around 25 euros. One discount ticket from the bus driver costs 0,80 euros, Tallinn 30-day e-discount ticket costs around 9 euros. Estonian ID-card holders who are registered as residents of Tallinn receive the right to use public transportation in Tallinn for free. STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS supports people with special needs both during the admission and learning process. We are putting our effort into creating a suitable social and physical environment for students with special needs and offer them respective guidance, counselling and support. We are continuously improving our ability to support students with special needs, based on their individual disability, in acquiring professional competencies. Our buildings have access and required facilities for people with impaired mobility. If you are a student with special needs interested in having your exchange studies in Tallinn Health Care College, first contact your coordinator to discuss your needs, possible additional financial support etc. In the frames of LLP/Erasmus programme you can apply for special financial support. Please find further information about services in Tallinn for disabled people http://www.tallinn.ee/ eng/for-people-with-disabilities SUPERVISING AND TUTORING If you come to for a practical training, you will receive support from four people: your supervisor at the college, mentor at the practical placement, our Erasmus coordinator and your tutor student. Most of our mentors at hospitals have passed a special mentoring and supervising course. Even if you only take courses at the, you will have your supervisor who you can turn to with academic issues. All incoming students can turn for help for our Erasmus coordinators with questions, problems regarding the academic field, Erasmus documentation, general organization of their exchange period etc. All incoming students will have a tutor student. You can turn to your tutor student already prior to your arrival, if you have any questions. If you wish, your tutor student can meet you upon your arrival. He/she will help you with all the initial procedures. If you stay longer than for 90 days, your tutor student will help you with registering you at the local municipality and thereafter at the citizenship and migration bureau. He/she will show you how to use our study information system and help you integrate to our academic and cultural life. You can turn to your tutor student throughout your stay with questions concerning practical everyday life issues. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Erasmus Student Network Tallinn will organize different events and trips to make sure you will have a good and interesting time in Estonia. You will receive information about upcoming events on your e-mail. BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL Before your arrival our Erasmus coordinator will send you your detailed practical training programme (if you have a practical training), the contacts of your supervisor, mentor, tutor student and other relevant information.
