Carol Hervias has been selected from a large pool of outstanding applicants to participate in the Jack Rudin Bearing Witness Advanced Program to Israel 2017, scheduled to take place July 4 - July 14, 2017. Bearing Witness Advanced is a unique professional development opportunity for Catholic school educators from across the United States. Due to the spectacular success of the Regional Bearing Witness Program, an advanced course of study was instituted in 2005. This extension of Bearing Witness allows educators the opportunity to visit Israel and deepen their understanding of the Jewish and Christian connection to Israel, modern Israeli politics, anti-semitism, the Holocaust, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Participants meet with scholars, journalists, policymakers and faith leaders, are afforded the chance to visit sites sacred to Jews and Christians. TRACK TEAM: The Catholic Schools Office sends its regrets for canceling our annual field day meet. Unfortunately they will not be able to reschedule the event for this year. I join the superintendent in extending my sincere apologies to our athletes. All St. John s athletes from 5th through 8th grade are invited to attend the St. John s Sports Banquet with their parents on May 19th. RSVP with your payment by May 15th if you are attending. Please visit the Falcon Catholic Middle School page at http://www.jp2falcons.org/athletics/fcms.cfm for more information. St. John s is mindful of pursuing options for athletes that may not be selected for the combined teams. Administration will work on that effort during the 2017-2018 school year.
