Our Lady s Catholic, Alcester Newsletter 26.1.18 United together as one family in Christ. Almighty ever-living God, we humbly implore your majesty that, just as your Only Begotten Son was presented on this day in the Temple in the substance of our flesh, so, by your grace, we may be presented to you with minds made pure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever We welcome families, friends and parishioners to our school mass to celebrate the Feast of The Presentation of the Lord. Thursday 2nd February 10am, (in school).
In year 5/6 this week we have looked at the different features of a river in topic. In maths year 5 have been looking at multiplication and division. In English we have planned our persuasive letter to encourage stricter laws to help stop pollution of rivers. Children came up with some fantastic reasons. Reception have been busy looking at a painting of a castle by Paul Klee. We drew the horizon and then used squares, rectangles and triangles to create a castle. We coloured them in with oil pastels and chalks. Here is the original and Isaac s masterpiece. This week in year 1 and 2, we have been learning about multiplication in maths. We have been looking for, using and building arrays. This week in year 3/4 something terrible has happened! The Iron giant has returned! The children thought about how they would feel if they saw the Iron giant and how they would try and capture him. Then he took our class bunny Flopsy! We had great fun doing drama to help us with our writing and now we are planning newspaper reports to tell everyone what has happened.
