Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Calendar 2018-2019

August 2018 First Twenty Day ELs IDENTIFICATION and PLACEMENT LPAC meetings take place. Campus ensures that LPAC parents are trained to participate in the LPACs. The Bilingual/ESL Department website has parent training materials and certificates. http://www.gccisd.net/default.aspx?name=bilingual.resources. All members participating in the LPAC receive campus training on updates provided by the Bilingual/ESL Department. Campus maintains Eduphoria records of LPAC training. A special education representative needs to be present at the LPAC when discussing English language learners who are also special education. April 2019 The Oral Language Proficiency Test (IPT) is administered to all PK and K students in the Bilingual and ESL program and 1 st -12 th grade students without 2 year of TELPAS consecutive data. Norm-referenced standardized (Terra Nova) test for 1 st -2 nd and 11 th -12 th need to be administered if students are considered for exit. Parents of students who meet exit criteria need to be notified in writing. Campus needs receipt notice from parents acknowledging the student met exit criteria.
