INTRODUCTION Practical Update in Cardiology 2018 is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive review of the latest breakthroughs and advances in cardiovascular medicine. The course will focus on practical management of common cardiovascular conditions such as atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease, myocardial infarction and hyperlipidemia. With a combination of didactic lectures, case-based presentations and panel discussions, faculty will discuss cutting-edge therapies as well as common challenges encountered in daily clinical practice. Objectives By attending this conference, attendees should improve their ability to: describe new advances in the management of atrial fibrillation discuss heart disease in women review non-invasive evaluation of valvular heart disease discuss how to treat PVCs discuss new pharmacologic agents for hyperlipidemia describe how to optimize the care of a patient after myocardial infarction Target Audience This CME conference has been designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, cardiac care providers, internists and family practitioners. CME Accreditation and Credit Designation Beaumont Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
