PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE Dear families, Volunteers Morning Tea and Assembly We really appreciate the work that all our volunteers do for the school; it was great to see many of you at our morning tea on Monday morning. We thank you all for your assistance including at working bees and in the grounds, volunteering in the canteen, school banking, fundraising, School Council, PFA, assisting teachers in the classroom, with preparation and organising resources, and assisting year levels at excursions and camps. We couldn t raise the money or provide the support that we need to operate our extra programs without your assistance. Children feel proud when they see you assisting at their school, which models the value of working hard to develop themselves as contributing members of their school and wider community. Year 6s are excited about their graduation ceremony tonight. We will also be farewelling them at the 12 noon assembly tomorrow. The buses leave at 12:30pm and parents can take their students at that time after assembly if they wish, however dismissal time is 1:30pm. We look forward to seeing you then and next year at our new assembly time on Fridays at 3:05pm. School Concert Thank you to the students, class teachers, Juli (choir accompaniment) and our music teacher Kate Kuyateh for the preparation and organisation of the two concerts yesterday. Whilst we were lucky that the day wasn t too hot it is not an ideal venue as the school grows and we are looking into alternative arrangements for 2018. Thank you to the parents who have already volunteered to assist with the stage and sound requirements for the possibility of holding the concert outside. 2018 Classes and new Education Support Staff The students have continued step-up to their 2018 classes this week with their last step-up day on Tuesday morning. The teachers met together after school on Tuesday so that each child s 2017 teacher could chat to their 2018 teacher to pass on important information regarding their needs and learning development. We have appointed two extra Education Support staff to support students with additional needs. We welcome Melissa Hatty and Lauren King to our Education Support team for 2018. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday with your family and friends. Julie Soutter
