Summary of Data A. Procedure The Career Development Office sent out a survey to all graduates of the Class of 2012 as received from the Registrar s Office. The survey for the Class of 2012 was sent out in May 2013 and information was collected through September 30, 2013. The Career Development office also consulted faculty members, graduates directly, and social networking. For the purpose of this report, the Class of 2012 refers to those graduates who completed their graduation requirements by January 2012, May 2012 or July 2012. B. General Findings The following summary is based on data collected. Information was collected from the traditional undergraduate program. EXCEL alumni with bachelor or associate degrees and Graduate School alumni were not included. 173 graduates in the Class of 2012 Contact was made with 97% of the class or 167 graduates From those contacted: Full-time Employment: 67% Part-time Employment: 14% Graduate School: 14% Substitute Teaching: 1% Unemployed: 5% C. Observations In reviewing information from the Class of 2012 the following trends were evident: With the cutbacks that public schools have endured, Huntington University s education majors had a very high employment rate. Part time jobs -More students are working 2 or 3 part time jobs. -Many graduate students have part time jobs while they attend school. -Choosing to live in a certain area could be a factor in why they are currently working part time. 3

The first number is the actual number of students HU graduated for that major in 2012. The second number is the number of students we were able to find information about. For example: in the Psychology major HU graduated 12 students. We were able to contact 10 of them and listed the combined information about their major related jobs, graduate schools, and unemployment according to 10 graduates rather than 12. * Please note that the "Unemployment" section includes graduate students unlike the percentage on page 2.
