The emphasis in this course is on developing students skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing using both PINYIN phonetic system and Simplified Chinese

characters. Students will participate in a variety of activities that will address different learning styles. Students will also develop a greater understanding of Chinese culture such as food, holidays, and customs. Spanish Level II SP02G Spanish Level I correct use of Spanish. It is designed to further develop students overall language proficiency. The emphasis in this course is on developing students skills in listening, speaking, reading, and

writing using both PINYIN phonetic system and Simplified Chinese characters, which enables students to get along comfortably in a Chinese environment. Chinese culture is also an important aspect of this class. Spanish Level III SP03G Credit in Spanish II continuing practice of major grammatical structures. Italian Level III IT03G Spanish Level II continuing practice of major grammatical structures. French Level III FR03G French Level II continuing practice of major grammatical structures. There is a Regents assessment from the State. Mandarin Chinese Level III MC03G Mandarin Chinese Level II This is the third year course in Mandarin Chinese. It is designed to further develop students overall language proficiency, and to prepare students to take AP or IB Mandarin Chinese language courses. The emphasis in this course is on developing students skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing by using Simplified Chinese characters but not PINYIN phonetic system, which helps students deal with Chinese speakers in a Chinese environment. Chinese culture is also an important aspect of this class.

It is designed to further develop students overall language proficiency and to prepare students to take AP or IB Mandarin Chinese language course. The emphasis in this course is on developing and practicing students skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing using Simplified Chinese characters and not the PINYIN phonetic system, which help students to deal with Chinese speakers in a Chinese environment. Chinese culture is also an important aspect of this class.
