PEMBANGUNAN DAN PENILAIAN PERISIAN KURSUS MULTIMEDIA dapat dijadikan panduan kepada individu ataupun penyelidik yang berminat untuk mengetahui mahupun membangunkan sebuah perisian kursus pendidikan dan proses-proses yang terlibat agar pendidik dapat mengenal pasti cara yang berkesan dan menarik untuk mengintegrasikan ICT dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Pemahaman tentang metodologi pembangunan kursus ini adalah penting bagi memastikan hasil pembangunan tersebut mencapai objektif yang ditetapkan. Seiring dengan kemajuan dunia teknologi, pembangunan pendidikan telah mengalami satu transformasi dengan penumpuan ke arah penghasilan sebuah perisian kursus yang berlandaskan kepada sebuah metodologi pembangunan dan teori berkaitan pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Justeru, penyelidikan telah dijalankan oleh para penyelidik termasuklah dari aspek metodologi pembangunan, pendekatan teori, pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematik, psikologi, nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan sebagainya. Dengan sistem teknologi yang berkembang pesat mutakhir ini, Sistem Pengurusan Pembelajaran (LMS) bukan lagi merupakan perkara asing dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun, masih ramai dalam kalangan pendidik yang belum mengenali LMS secara mendalam dan bagaimana teknologi ini menjadi wadah bagi mempermudah proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran khususnya di institut pengajian tinggi. Menyedari keperluan untuk meningkatkan kefahaman tentang aplikasi dan integrasi LMS dalam kalangan pendidik, maka buku ini dihasilkan bagi menjawab beberapa persoalan seperti: Mengapa pendidik perlu mengurus pengajaran menggunakan LMS? Today we are faced with the era of technology diversity. There is a need for related stakeholders to look at approaches in teaching that could help and assist students, especially of those in higher education, to grow as excellent human capital with well-instilled life-long learning habits. UPM is also striving to venture into this quest of methods. One profound method that seemed to surface on this search is STUDENT-CENTRED LEARNING (SCL) teaching approach. The move is necessary not only to materialize the 1st aim of UPM Strategic Plan launched in 2011, that is, to attract students with excellence and to produce competitive knowledgeable graduates but also our vision to be a university of high standing both locally and internationally, by carrying out our mission in giving meaningful contributions through the creation of wealth and nation building through exploration and distribution of knowledge. / 2011

SUPERVISING GRADUATE RESEARCH makes a good companion to both potential supervisors and research students. Many issues and challenges of supervising graduate research are discussed in this volume. Potential supervisors and research students can also get a feel of what they can expect from each other in the process of working on a research Project together. Some of the main themes addressed in this volume are as follow: the issues and challenges of supervision; the process of building and maintaining good working relations between supervisors and their supervisees; the need to understanding the research environment and related support system; and the need to write and publish for both supervisors and research students as a mean by which they may lay claim to ownership of new findings or novel ideas. Discussion of these issues and challenges have benefitted greatly from the many real case examples and the many years of accumulated experiences that the team of academic brought into the writing of their respective chapters. New academics in the 21st century undeniably face a lot of challenges, particularly those who are serving in renowned, research universities. The biggest challenge is for new academics to balance all their responsibilities such as teaching, conducting research, producing publications, supervision, consultancy, involvement in community services, training, product commercialization and others. Thus, the adjustment process of new academics during the transition period could be more complicated tan anyone thought. This book is written as a guide for new academics to intelligently and strategically adjust themselves to their new job demands. It is recognized that full commitment to teaching and learning must include assessing and documenting and using this information to improve the educational experiences being offered. Assessment of learning outcome is a common process that lecturers do when they articulate the main goals for a course, to see whether students have a achieved them, and then use the results to make the course better. Readers may find that some part of this handbook is cited from the Guidelines to Good Practices: Assessment of Students which was released by the MQA. Nonetheless, this handbook provides additional examples of assessment ítems specified accordingly to the three domains; cognitive, affective and psychomotor. This handbook is intended to guide the lecturers in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to meet the MQA Standards for Assessment of Students, underlined in Area 3 in the Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA) and the Code of Practice for Institutional Audit (COPIA). / 2013

HIGH-IMPACT EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES (HIEPs) are techniques and designs for teaching and learning that have proven to be beneficial for student engagement and successful learning among students from many backgrounds. Through intentional program design and advanced pedagogy, these types of practices can enhance student learning and work to narrow gaps in achievement across student populations. In this guideline, participants will be exposed to components of HIEPs, and learn how to identify and improve high impact educational practices in their courses by embedding HIEPs into their curriculum review exercise. In context with Higher Education of Malaysian Public University a circular has been disseminated to all Universities to emphasize on the HIEPs practices (JPT-BPPA 15th January 2015). / 2017
