Montgomery Elementary PTA - 2014-15 School Year Program/Event Descriptions: Book Fairs - Held during the weeks of October 20 th, Feb 2 nd and June 1 st. Help students select and purchase books. During school hours. Chairperson: Tina Canavan Box Tops & Labels 4 Education - Volunteers needed to collect and count BoxTops and run in-school class contest. Evening and during school hours. Chairperson: Nancy Schoonmaker & LeAnne Mackey Fall Harvest Festival Held on September 27 th from 11am-4pm. Fun day for the whole family including carnival games, crafts, food & entertainment. Help needed to run games, sell food and tickets, set-up and clean-up. Co-Chairs: Leslie Geiselhart, Melissa DiMartino, & Jane Samuelson Fall Sale - Help needed to sort and deliver orders to parents during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 25-26. Evening and during school hours. Co-Chairs: Jenny Cole & Linda Prezioso Family Fun Nights - Held on Friday evenings throughout the year. Volunteers needed to assist with activities, snacks, set-up and clean-up. Evening hours. Chairperson: Kim Krouse & Jane Samuelson Founders Night - A volunteer favorite at MES. Volunteers needed at each grade level to help during practice, rehearsals, and the night of the show. The show takes place the evening of April 10 th, with several weeks of daytime rehearsal prior to the show. Assistance is also needed setting-up, serving and cleaning-up refreshment tables for Founder s guests. During and after school hours. Chairperson: Jenny Cole Holiday Boutiques Held during the week of December 8 th and April 29 th. The boutiques teach the children about budgeting as they enjoy shopping for everyone on their list. Volunteers needed to assist the children with shopping. Chairperson: Cheryl Terribile Hospitality Purchase, secure donations, set-up and clean-up refreshments on PTA meeting and event nights approximately 6 times a year. Chairperson: Tina Canavan Little Vikings Bank - Volunteers are needed to assist our student bank employees and customers with their banking. Banking is held on the Tuesdays throughout the year. Check the school calendar for exact dates. Chairperson: Nancy Schoonmaker Mother's Day and Father's Day Breakfasts - Held on three consecutive mornings in May and June. Volunteers needed to set-up/clean-up and greet guests for breakfast prepared by our amazing cafeteria staff. Morning hours approx 7:30-9:15. Chairperson: Alisa Nolan 5 th Grade Moving-up Day - 4th Grade parents needed to set-up and clean-up refreshments after 5th grade moving up. Also 5 th Grade parents to decorate bulletin board for 5th grade students. 4 th Grade Co-Chairs: Jenna Frangione & Hillary Scotto / 5 th Grade Co-Chairs: Leslie Geiselhart & Sonia Lewis Me and My Gal Bowling - Held on a Friday evening in May. A fun evening of bowling for boys and their favorite gal at Colonial Lanes in Chester, NY. Must be PTA member to attend. Chairperson: Melissa Salerno

Montgomery Elementary PTA - 2014-15 School Year Me and MY Guy Dance - Held in March. An evening of dancing and fun for girls and their favorite guys. Must be PTA member to attend. Co-Chairs: Hillary Scotto & Tara O Connor Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) - Help throughout the month of March. Our PARP program builds a reading relationship between home and school. Evening and during school hours. Co- Chairs: Melissa DiMartino & Sarah Messing Picture Day - Scheduled for October 7 th, re-take day is November 18 th. Volunteers needed to organize students for class and individual photos and assist photographers. Co-Chairs: Leslie Geiselhart & Hillary Scotto Polar Express Day Serve hot chocolate to students during school hours the week before Winter Break. Chairperson: Tina Canavan Reflections - Held on January 20th at 7pm. This program fosters a love of the arts. Participants submit original works in categories such as visual arts, photography and literature. Chairperson: Jane Samuelson Staff Appreciation Lunch - Held on an afternoon, after student dismissal, during the last week of school. Help needed to coordinate food purchase/donation, delivery, and set up/clean up. Chairperson: LeAnne Mackey Staff Appreciation Week Help plan, purchase, prepare and deliver gifts to MES staff during the week of May 4 th. Help is also needed baking, setting/cleaning-up for teacher s breakfast on Friday. Chairperson: LeAnne Mackey Talent Showcase Takes place on a Friday evening at the end of May with several weeks of daytime rehearsals prior to the show. Assistance is needed preparing for and running the show as well as setting-up, serving and cleaning-up refreshment tables for Showcase guests. After school and evening hours. Co-Chairs: Samantha Mant & Sonia Lewis Yearbook Parent photographers needed to take photos at school and PTA events and design/create yearbook pages. Volunteers also needed to sort and deliver yearbooks in June. Chairperson: Heidi Gridley & Denise Marra Other Essential Committees: Audit Review previous year s financial data and certify to its validity. Prior financial experience is desired. Chairperson: Lisa Lewis Communications Update PTA Website and post information on our Facebook group. Co-Chairs: Melissa DiMartino & Jane Samuelson Membership Update local membership database and distribute PTA membership cards. Co- Chairs: Kim & Justin Krouse Nominating Determine which PTA Executive Board positions will be open during the following school year and suggest who would be best suited to fill those positions based on experience and dedication.
