Vintage Vehicles of Sun City General Membership Meeting Minutes Tuesday, November 27, 2018 2018 Officers present President - Troy Janicki Vice President #1 - Bill Senter Vice President #2 Ed Guerske Treasurer Roxie Whitney Membership Director - Les Litzenberger Recording Secretary - Yvonne Ahrens Events Director Richard Holcomb Public Relations Director Ed Gordon Procedures Director s Gary Davis Call to Order President Troy Janicki called the meeting to order at 1:08 p.m. Quorum Verification Quorum was verified by Les approximately 98 members present Pledge of Allegiance & Invocation Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the members, invocation by Dale Gross. Introduction of New Members and Guests Troy asked if we have any new members today. 3 new members were present today, Mike Elliott from WA, Terry Knott, KS and Winston Peterson, MN. We have Ruth, who was here last month and still has a couple die-cast cars to sell. Troy welcomed the new members and thanked them for joining.

Troy introduced Rich Hoffer who is running for the RCSC board this year. Rich told us we need to be included in the long range plan in order to get our building on Grand Avenue. He said the board must finish the building and build 2 others on the Grand Avenue property, one of those would be for our club. He said there are 137 clubs in Sun City and we are a huge club, probably the 3 rd largest. He thanked Troy for all the work he had done and presented to the AdHoc Committee last year. Les asked if we would be able to get a paint shop at the new facility and noted that Sun City West will be having their grand opening for their paint shop soon. Rich said he would not personally be against that. He said there are 8 running and 3 will be elected and one other appointed. He suggested we do our homework on the candidates and see how much each has given to Sun City. Approve Last Month s Meeting Minutes Troy asked for a motion to approve October meeting minutes. He noted these are posted in the shop. Bob Faron made the motion, seconded by Glen Mester, vote taken, motion passed to accept the minutes. Membership Director s Report: Les Litzenberger Les said since the club s inception we have had 454 members. As of the present time we have 309 paid up to date members, 70 who renewed today. When you renew you will have your bar code on the back so we can scan your member number into our computer. We will begin charging $1 if you forget your card and want to work in the shop. If you lose your card it will be $5 to replace it. Treasurer s Report: Roxie Whitney Treasurer s Report for November, 2018 Checking Account Balance $ 8,493.89 Total Receipts 5,762.00 TOTAL INCOME $14,255.89 TOTAL EXPENSES 858.30 Ending Cash Balance Checking 10/31/18 $13,397.59 Total Savings Account Balance including interest $35,860.17 Total Bank Balances as of November 2018 $49,257.76

Presidents Report Troy Janicki There has been a concern raised that some do not know that you do not have to have a car to join our club. If you like cars or like talking about cars, we want you as a member. So spread the word to anyone who asks you about the club. Also we cannot have cars for sale at the shop. We are not allowed to profit from our work. Nothing visually on your car for sale. Gary thought we should ask RCSC about selling cars because other clubs sell merchandise. You can put a sign up on the bulletin board to advertise your car for sale but you are not to profit by working on your car and advertising it for sale at the shop. At this present time, we are not allowed to do this. RCSC owns everything they will pull our charter, so this is serious. We need to have more monitors if we want to open the shop full time. We are now open 8-4 Mon and Wed and Friday mornings. Monitor training is on-going. There is a signup sheet for monitor training at the shop. Scott is not here today but asked me to read a special thank you to everyone who has already helped out at the shop with special mention of Ron Atkinson, safety supervisor, Ed Gordon, shop supervisor, and Richard Holcomb, tool room supervisor. These 3 have done most of the training. Also a special thank you to John Edwards who is there every day and keeps to shop clean. Tom Julius and Don Putts and others who monitor often and have helped us in training. Thanks to Anthony for cataloging tools and Gary Meger who got the corvette running. Please sign up to monitor and be patient as we go thru the list and try to get to everyone in a timely manner. Event Director s Report: Richard Holcomb We have a car show at Bell Rec Center 10-2 on December 7 th. We need monitors, if everyone signed up you would only have to monitor once or twice. It would help the club. We have taken on a project a 74 Nova that needs repairs. We will start on bushings this week. We are doing this as a favor to a member. So come on in if you would like to help. Vice President #1 Report: Bill Senter I ve been asked when are we going to do upholstery. Tom LaVack would like to start some classes, and a member has a neighbor that would be willing to help with teaching upholstery. I think we should pursue it further. We might be able to do a short evening class. Let me know if you think of anything you would like to see happen. Vice President #2 Report: Ed Guerski Thanks to everyone who got policies set up and personally thanked Ed for all his help on his car.

Secretary s Report: Yvonne Ahrens The ladies lunch is Monday December 3 rd at 11;30 at Babbo s in Surprise, please bring an unwrapped toy for their toy drive if you would like to contribute. Public Relations Director s Report: Ed Gordon Thanks to all who helped in the shop to get ready for Grand Opening today. Procedures Director s Report: Gary Davis Sign up to monitor and let s get the shop open every day. Jon Braemer noted that if we are not using this shop to its max there s not much chance we will get another one. Nominating Committee Chairperson - Beth Smith The slate of officers and directors was presented by Glen Mester as follows: President Troy Janicki 1 st Vice President Richard Holcomb 2 nd Vice President - Les Litzenberger Treasurer Roxie Whitney Recording Secretary Yvonne Ahrens Shop Director Ed Gordon Membership Director Alan Lund Events Director Glen Mester Public Relations Director still open Procedures Director Joe Warfal 2020 Car Show Director still open In response to a question, all position descriptions are on the website. After each position announced Glen asked 3 times if there were any other nominations from the floor. Ed Guerski said he would like to retain his position but no one nominated him. Alan Lund is not in town but Beth talked to him last month and he has agreed to serve as Membership Director. Yvonne said she would do public relations if someone else would take on Recording Secretary, there was no response. Glen thanked all the nominating committee members. Beth said we will vote in December if anyone else wants to run for an office, please let her know.

Old Business John Silica said we should attend meetings regarding changing the CC&R s regarding building garages in Sun City. Lloyd Hildebrandt brought up changing dues to $25 to include the wife in order to get more women involved. He said he had made a motion last year to this effect. Yvonne said she had looked back and only found a discussion on it but no motion. He said he had made a motion. She will look further. New Business Lloyd Hildebrandt then made a motion, seconded by Webster Peterson to change the dues to $25 per couple. Troy asked if there was any discussion. Pat said we re still fundraising and $10 shouldn t hurt anyone. Several members said they didn t think the extra $10 is a problem. Jo Shelton suggested we have Roxie look into how much money the club would lose if we change it. After more discussion Troy said we would have to table the motion and look into the price difference that Jo mentioned. Les said 70 people have joined just today and if we change it now we would have to refund money, so we should wait till 2020. The motion is tabled till next month. Roxie will get the figures together and you can all think about it and we will revisit it next month. Also Troy introduced Al Baccaro who has taken over the NAPA store at Grand and Greenway, so we need to support his store and he will also give our members a discount. A member asked about getting a EIN number for so the business can deduct that for advertising. Troy said yes we can get him the number but we are not a 501C3. All our sponsors use that number for advertising. A member told us about a shop on 91 st street behind Albertson s that does good work and is reasonable. Denny Lockman reported the Anniversary Party will be on Friday, January 12 th at Fairway Rec Center. The Calhoun s will be the entertainment again this year. The price will be $20 and you need to choose between chicken and pork. Make checks to VVSC and mail to Denny or he will take after the meeting. Deadline for dinner reservations is January 7 th. A member asked about going back to Harold s in Cave Creek for breakfast on New Yrs. day. The club will look into it and see if it is available. Breakfast is now at Mercers on Peoria at 7am. on Tuesdays. 50/50 Drawing: $95 in drawing. Mark Crashell won the drawing with ticket number ending in 373.

Adjourn Meeting: Bob Faron made a motion to adjourn meeting and seconded by Les Litzenberger. Meeting adjourned 2:38 p.m, Respectfully submitted, Yvonne Ahrens, Recording Secretary
