MINERAL COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION December 4, 2018 REGULAR MEETING #12 The Mineral County Board of Education met in regular session at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in the Administrative Office at 36 Baker Place, Keyser, WV, with the following in attendance: Board Members: Lara L. Courrier, President (06-30-2022) Mary J. Baniak, Vice-President (06-30-2022) Thomas C. Denne (06-30-2020) Terry G. Puffinburger (06-30-2022) Robert E. Woy (06-30-2020) Administration: Other: Shawn L. Superintendent s Update: The Superintendent: announced that Governor Justice had proclaimed December 5, 2018, as a state holiday for a mark of respect for George Herbert Walker Bush, the forty-first President of the United States. Reported on the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative legislative forum meeting he had attended. B. Board Comments: Mr. Woy asked that a report for student on-line course work be placed for discussion on the next agenda.

He also spoke of the Aubrey Stewart Project presentation by TJ Coleman, reporting that it was very well done. Lastly, he reported on the PreK Head Start Policy council meeting he had attended. Non-Agenda Items none APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion of Mr. Puffinburger and second of Mr. Woy passed unanimously to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on November 13, 2018, as presented. ACTION AGENDA OTHER ACTION 1. PERSONNEL: A. Retirement Service Personnel With the recommendation of the Superintendent, the motion of Mr. Denne and second of Mr. Puffinburger passed unanimously to approve the following service personnel retirement, as presented: 1. Patsy Kitzmiller, Custodian IV, Keyser Primary School, effective December 21, 2018 -Advertise Position The Superintendent wishes to thank Ms. Kitzmiller for her 18+ years of service to Mineral County Schools. B. Placements/Transfers Professional Personnel No recommendations were made for personnel items B1 B3. 1. Teacher, Music, Keyser Middle School 2. School Psychologist, Student Services, 220 days 3. Jay Harris, placement, Mechanic, Bus Garage, 235 days (140 days for the 2018-2019 employment term), effective December 6, 2018 No recommendations were made for personnel items C2 or C3. 2. Itinerant Classroom Aide or Itinerant Classroom Aide/Paraprofessional Transportation/Special Education, Bus Garage/Transportation 3. Itinerant Classroom Aide/Paraprofessional/Educational Sign Language Interpreter, Wiley Ford Primary School With the recommendation of the Superintendent, the motion of Ms. Baniak and second of Mr. Denne passed unanimously to approve the following service personnel placement, as presented: 4. *Jessie Rohrbaugh, placement, Cook II, half-day, Frankfort High and Frankfort Middle Schools, 200 days (126 days for the 2018-2019 employment term), effective December 6, 2018 With the recommendation of the Superintendent, the motion of Mr. Puffinburger and second of Mr. Denne passed unanimously to approve the following service personnel placement, as presented: 5. *Kristi Beatty, placement, Cook II, half-day, Keyser Middle School, 200 days (126 days for the 2018-2019 employment term), effective December 6, 2018 *With the placements of Ms. Rohrbaugh and Ms. Beatty, the following employees will be transferred as previously approved, effective December 6, 2018: a.
