Call to Order President, called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. II. Prayer Margaret Shriver opened the meeting with prayer. III. Pledge of Allegiance Nancy Hahn led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. IV. Introductions Introductions were made around the room. V. Approval of Agenda A motion was made by Dixie Bean, seconded by Douglas Hines, to approve the agenda.

LSIC Presentations Moorefield Intermediate School and Moorefield Middle School Kendra Molen, Teacher, and Sheena Van Meter, Principal, presented their annual report to the Board. The MIS attendance rate is currently 98%. The school is implementing a program known as Leader in Me. The RESA 8 diagnostic review was shared with the Board. Only two areas were noted that needed attention. These included parental involvement and monitoring of at-risk students. All grade levels are showing improvement in student achievement. Stephanie Simmons, Teacher, and Pat McGregor, Principal, presented their annual LSIC report to the Board. Mrs. Simmons shared with the Board the core beliefs of their school, goals for the school, test data from the 2014-2015 school year, and the school s work with curriculum and performance-based assessments. MMS shared several examples of parent involvement activities to involve parents in the school. Mr. McGregor provided the Board with school concerns which included crowded classrooms, appropriate services to ESL students, and continued development of performance-based assessment. The attendance rate is 98.6%. The school requested consideration of an additional reading teacher and additional office support personnel. VII. Public Comments No Public Comments VIII. Page 3 On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Nancy Hahn, the Board approved Consent Items with the stipulation the Board has the option to rescind any trip based upon conditions in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area at the time of the trip. IX. Unfinished Business A. EHHS/MHS Building Projects Update from Williamson and Shriver Architects Update from Howard Shockey and Sons Bill Ratcliffe, Williamson and Shriver Architects, reviewed both projects with the Board. The Board requested the issue of lights being checked at MHS. Also, the Board requested more information on the storm water retention basin. Stephen Knight, Howard Shockey and Sons, provided the Board with photos of both projects indicating the progress of the buildings. B. EHHS/MHS Building Projects Other C. Approval of EHEMS Roof Repair Proposal On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by Margaret Shriver, the Board approved Don Largent Roofing, Inc., for roof repairs at EHEMS in the amount of $16,788.00. D. Drug-Free Workplace Policy GBU On the motion of Nancy Hahn, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved Drug-Free Workplace Policy GBU as presented. E. Tobacco Control Policy JDE On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Nancy Hahn, the Board approved Tobacco Control Policy JDE as presented. F. Possession, Use or Sale of Illegal Drugs, Illegal Performance Enhancing Drugs and/or Alcohol Policy JGE On the motion of Margaret Shriver, seconded by Dixie Bean, the Board approved Possession, Use or Sale of Illegal Drugs, Illegal Performance Enhancing Drugs and/or Alcohol Policy JGE as presented.

Hardy County Schools Parental/Community Involvement in Student Education Policy KBH On the motion of Nancy Hahn, seconded by Margaret Shriver, the Board approved Hardy County Schools Parental/Community Involvement in Student Education Policy KBH to go out for first reading. B. Board of Education Dedication Plaques On the motion of Nancy Hahn, seconded by Margaret Shriver, the Board approved a Hardy County Board of Education dedication plaque for MHS and EHHS in the amount of $1,822.00. C. Approval of Textbook Adoptions On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board tabled Textbook Adoptions. XI.
