This paper is in two parts: Part 1: Aspects of International Relations, 1919 2005 (Sections A and B) and Part 2: Depth Study, The USA, Land of Freedom? 1945 1975 In Part 1, Aspects of International Relations, choose one of the following sections: Either Section A: The Inter-War Years, 1919 1939 Or Section B: A New World? 1948 2005. In these questions, you will need to use your knowledge of the topic to interpret the source. Answer Question 1 and EITHER Question 2 OR Question 3. You should spend about 15 minutes on Question 1. 1 Study the source carefully and then answer the questions which follow. SOURCE A A cartoon published in Britain, during the Corfu Crisis, September 1923. In these questions, you will need to use your knowledge of the topic to interpret and evaluate the sources. You should spend about 70 minutes on this section. Answer Question 7 and ONE other question. 7 Study the sources carefully and then answer the questions which follow. SOURCE A Never in the history of the world was one people as completely obsessed by another as the people of the United States by the people of Russia in the years 1946 to 1949. All this took place not in a time of national weakness but precisely at the moment when the United States, having engineered a tremendous triumph and fought its way to a brilliant victory in the greatest of all wars, had reached the highest point of world power ever achieved by a single state. From a book published in 1949 by Archibald MacLeish who was accused of having communist sympathies by Hoover and the FBI during the Second World War.
