THE DEGREE PROGRAMME Tourism is a continually growing economic sector which now more than ever requires professionalism and innovation. In order to succeed in this highly competitive environment, one has to be able to recognize trends to develop new touristic offers and implement them on the market. The management activities and products of touristic enterprises in a regional, national and international environment are marked by intercultural proceedings and networking. The English degree programme has a unique structure which allows for a compact, interdisciplinary course of instruction that cannot be found elsewhere. The direct link between practice and studies allows students to apply their newly-acquired knowledge and innovative ideas directly to the workplace. Professional Skills and Goals Graduates of this degree programme recognise trends and develop alternative products for all areas of the tourism value chain. They can carry out professional emarketing and know how to take advantage of the new forms of media in all of its varieties. They are familiar with business administration and legal conditions and are prepared to take on leadership positions. As a graduate of this programme, you will be prepared to perform within this complex field in a goal as well as team-oriented manner. Your Career You are prepared to take on tasks in middle management as well as to perform assistant functions at the level of departmental head in SMEs or larger enterprises or to take on leadership positions (or by proxy) in small (family) enterprises from the hotel industry to destination management to handling events.
