To set up a course, click New Course in the top right of the instructor home page. The screen that pops up will ask you for some basic info: Textbook (this has a dropdown list of all available titles), course title, section, and term. If your course has multiple sections, it is recommended that you build one course per section, instead of one for the entire course. Clicking Save will create the course and generate the Course ID. This is the ID your students will need to appear in the course s gradebook within SAGE edge select. You will need to provide this to your students for them to join your course. 2

The student version of SAGE edge select What s in the student version of SAGE edge select? Pre tests. Each chapter has a 25 question pre test. Each question is related to one of that chapter's learning objectives. The pre test is intended to be a diagnostic tool to test chapter comprehension after reading the chapter. Questions in the pre test adhere to Bloom's Taxonomy and are tied to the Knowledge (about 50%) and Comprehension (about 50%) domains. Study Plans. A personalized study plan is generated once a pre test is taken for a particular chapter. The study plan generates resources organized by the chapter's learning objectives. Resources are generated based on incorrect answers and low confidence correct answers to pre test questions. Taking the post test will update the assigned resources in the study plan. The study plan resources vary by textbook. All study plans include etext pages from the text that are relevant to the specific learning objectives. Each learning objective may also contain videos, additional readings, and other multimedia content. Post tests. Each chapter's post test has 25 questions. Each question is related to one of that chapter's printed learning objectives. Unlike the pre test, which is a static test for every student that takes it, the post test is generated from a 40 question pool. Post tests can be taken more than once, though the test will add different questions in subsequent attempts. If you do not master a learning objective after the first attempt, the study plan will continue to provide additional resources to you, and you can attempt to master that objective by retaking the post test. The most recent attempt is the attempt that will be recorded to your gradebook. Post test questions are written to cover all of that chapter's learning objectives. Questions in the post test adhere to Bloom's Taxonomy and are tied to the Knowledge (about 20%), Comprehension (about 50%), and Application or Analysis (about 30%) domains. Post test questions are different from the pre test questions, and different from your textbook s test bank.
