LAKE ERIE CHAPTER #3738 SPONSORED BY: LAKE ERIE HARLEY-DAVIDSON 38401 CHESTER AVON, OHIO 44011 440-934-5000 NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2018 VOLUME 9 ISSUE 6 WWW.LAKEERIEHOG.COM In This Issue: The Director s Notes Ron Long Well, it looks like riding season is over. I would like to thank all the road captains for a great riding season. If anyone has an idea for a ride next year, please let one of the officers or a road captain know all the details. I would also like to thank all the officers for all their help over the past few years. Without them, we would not have the chapter that we have. If you have not turned in your mileage for Ride 365, you have until the end of the year. You can bring a photo of your mileage to the next meeting and we can add them to our total. Also, if you have not signed up for the Christmas party, you have until the November meeting to do so. Since the dealership was sold, some of the events that we have done over the holidays will not happen. Not sure what will happen with the new ownership. I hope to find out more before the next meeting. In closing, I would like to Thank everyone for everything that you have done for the chapter and dealership. All your help is appreciated. This will be my last article as Director of this chapter. I would like to thank everyone for putting up with me for the last fifteen years. It's been fun working with everyone. We had some really great times, rode many miles, partied all night, and enjoyed each other s company countless times. Again, THANKS for everything. As always, ride safe and have fun. Assistant Director Jason Eustace Hello all I hope everyone is well. The list of rallies for next year is available on the HOG website and in the latest issue of the HOG magazine. I hope you all enjoyed the rides we had this year. The Road Captains put a lot of effort into them and as Kyle has already said its time to get ideas in for next year. The more ideas we get, the better the riding season will be so please, let one of the officers or Road Captains know. I would like to thank everyone for the support and help the last three years. It s been fun. Most of you already know but for those who don t I will be stepping down at the end of the year. I ve been a member for seven years and an officer for five years. It s time for someone else to step up. I hope you will give my successor the same help and support. As always, be safe Jason Assistant Director Hello Ladies, Ladies of Harley Andrea Lyons Well riding season is slowing down as sad as it may be, but with that being said... Our first LOH Meet and Greet went well with 10 ladies in attendance. We put our heads together, came up with some interesting ideas. So, watch the Facebook page and your HOG Blast e-mails for any and all information. Christmas wrapping is going on at the dealership, I have sign-up sheets for anyone willing to spare just a couple of hours here and there. Please see me at the meeting for what times are available. We are also planning a bake sale for December 16th to go along with the wrapping. Anyone willing to bake a little something, something to please the palates, please see me at the meeting. Don't forget our Christmas Party on December 8th, should be a great time. Our Activities officer has been hard at work with all the planning. Look forward to seeing everyone. Merry Christmas from my family to all of yours!!!!! Andrea LOH Officer 2

From the Head Road Captain Head Road Captain Kyle Snyder LOH Officer Andrea Lyons The ride schedule is finished for another year. I want to thank all of my road captains for leading rides all summer. Great job everyone!! As I mentioned at our last meeting, we are beginning to plan rides for next year. There are 2 regional hog rallies that we plan to attend. The first rally is Curves to Cores rally in Winchester Virginia. Rally dates are Wed., June 19 through Sat., June 22, leaving the rally Sunday morning. The rally is located in the western part of Virginia close to where Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia all come together. The Blue Ridge parkway is also close by. There is a rally website as well as a Facebook page, and they promise lots of good riding. John Poweska and I have started planning a ride to this rally. We have blocked rooms in the name of Lake Erie Hog at the Winchester Fairfield Inn. Rally rate is $119 per night. Phone number is 540-665-8881. Ride details will follow. The second rally is Great Lakes Rally in Boyne Falls Michigan. Rally dates are Wed., July 17 through Sat., July 20, leaving the rally Sunday morning. The rally is located in a ski resort about 60 miles southwest of the Mackinaw Bridge. Rally lodging is in the Boyne Mountain Resort. Phone is 800-462-6963. George Hammond is our ride leader. If you are interested in going to either of these rallies, I strongly suggest you get your rally hotel reservation quickly because they fill up. Also, let me know you plan to go with us, and I will add you to my list. After the holidays, the road captains will meet and plan next year s ride schedule. If you have any ride suggestions, let me know. Kyle Head Road Captain 3
