Slide 1 Title page Creating a group eportfolio Welcome to this presentation on how to create a group eportfolio.
Slide 2 Introduction A Group is an community which has its own eportfolio. A group eportfolio can be used for networking or for group collaboration and your group can decide exactly who can see your work.
Slide 3 Logging in UniSA e-portfolio link: http://ep.unisa.edu.au/ The first step in creating a group eportfolio is to go to the UniSA eportfolio portal link (note that you may be able to access the eportfolio system from the Course Essentials block on the Learnonline website). You will see this log-in page. Use your normal UniSA log-in details to access your own individual eportfolio (all students have one).
Slide 4 Groups To create a group, click on the green Groups tab. This will take you to the My Groups page ( as you can see here). On this page, you will find a listing of any groups to which you already belong.
Slide 5 Creating a group 1 Click on the Create group button.
Slide 6 Creating a group 2 1 1 2 2 Give your group a name (1), and, if you want, a description (2).
Slide 7 3 4 Creating a group 3 5 6 7 You need to decide on the settings which you want for your group (3). If it is for group work for a unit assignment, the best option is to make the group membership Request. You can also allow members to invite friends to the group (4). You can ask for a Participation Report (5) and set dates to limit editing (6) if you wish. Make sure that the Shared Page Notifications (7) box is set to All Group Members. Finally, select Save Group.
Slide 8 The group tabs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Once you save your group, you will be taken to a page like this one. From this page, you can see the details about your group (the type, the date of creation, the members, etc). You will also see a series of tabs along the top, which give you more options for this group. You are currently in the About tab (1). The Members tab (2) is where you invite members to your group. The Forums tab (3) is where you subscribe and post to group forums. A group forum is automatically created when you create the group eportfolio; however, you can add other forums if you wish. The Pages tab (4) is where you create eportfolio pages for your group (this is where you will probably create the page for your assignment). The Collections tab is to show pages which you have set together as collections these pages are linked to each other and have the same access permissions. The Share tab (6) is where you adjust the share settings for the pages you have created. Under the Files tab (7), you can upload images, documents and other files to be included on your pages. The Report tab will give you information about the pages owned by the group, and other pages shared with the group.
Slide 9 The About tab You can click on the Edit button to change the basic details of the group the name, type of membership, etc.
Slide 10 The Members tab Now click on the Members tab in the top row. You should see a page like this. This is where you can add the rest of your team members to the group eportfolio, by sending them invitations. The easiest way to find and invite them is to Send multiple invitations at once, so click on that.
Slide 11 Inviting members 1 On this page, you can simply type the first or last name of a group member into the search field and hit the Go button. You should see a list of UniSA members with that first or last name. Select the correct person, and then...
Slide 12 Inviting members 2... use the arrow button to put that name into the list of Users to be invited. Keep repeating this process until you can see all your group members on the list. If you add a person by mistake, use the left arrow button to take him or her off the list. Now click on Submit, and invitations will be sent to the people on the list. Note that if you cannot find the name of one of your group members, it is probably because he or she hasn t logged in to their own eportfolio yet, and therefore is not on the eportfolio register. Ask him/her to log in to their own eportfolio immediately. Also, double check the spelling of any group members names!
Slide 13 Accepting an invitation Make sure that you warn the other team members to visit their eportfolio and accept your invitation (they will find the invitation in the recent activity list on the front page (dashboard) of their eportfolio.
Slide 14 Your list of groups When you enter your eportfolio and click on the Groups tab on the main menu, you will see a list of your groups, in alphabetical order. Your new group should be in this list. You can change the group details by clicking on the Edit icon to the right of the group name.
