Application procedure and deadlines An applicant enters the admission procedure by performing the following three steps: 1. filling out and sending a completed electronic application form www.prihlaska.cvut.cz, 2. submitting a fully completed and signed paper application form together with all required documents to the FIT Office for Studies, either by postal mail or in person (see Section 4 for details and the address), 3. paying the fee for the admission procedure (500 CZK) to the bank account of FIT (see Section 7 for details). The deadline for completing all three steps is 30 th April 2015. Applicants are strongly encouraged to perform these three steps as soon as possible to allow the faculty s administration to process the applications on an ongoing basis. Upon receipt of the application, in any case no later than 9 th May 2015, the application will be evaluated and the applicant will be informed by e-mail about the result. will be asked to pay the tuition fee for the first semester to the bank account of FIT. The tuition fee must be paid no later than 31 st May 2015 (see Section 7 for details). Upon receipt of the tuition fee payment, FIT will send to the successful applicant: 1. an official letter of admission with further information about enrolling to the Informatics MDSP and about starting studies at FIT, and 2. admission confirmation for the Czech Embassy in the applicant s country, and 3. accommodation confirmation (if accommodation was requested by the applicant), and 4. one signed and stamped copy of the study contract. Applicants who applied to the Informatics MDSP while still studying in the last year of their Bachelor-level studies and who were admitted, shall submit a proof of completing their Bachelor-level education (see Section 4, item 2a) on the date of enrollment at the latest. Applicants who cannot submit the documents at the time of enrollment must ask for an extension of the deadline to do so and give valid reasons. The classes start on 28 th September 2015. Admitted applicants who asked FIT to reserve their accommodation in the CTU student dormitories will have their accommodation reserved starting from September 14 th, 2015. 3. Documents to be submitted by e-mail The following documents shall be submitted by e-mail to master-admissions@fit.cvut.cz: 1. The application form, fully completed by the applicant. After completing and submitting the application form by e-mail, the applicant shall print the form, sign it, and send it by postal mail with all other requested documents see the next section. 4. Documents to be submitted by postal mail The following documents shall be submitted by postal mail to FIT: 1. The application form, fully completed and signed by the applicant (see the previous section). 2. Two signed copies of the study contract. Each copy shall be printed on a single sheet of paper, double-sided. Each copy must contain the applicant s full name (as shown in the passport), date of birth, country of citizenship, address of permanent residence, passport number, date of signature, and the applicant s signature. The study contract form is available online at http://www.fit.cvut.cz/en/student/forms. a) Applicants who have already fully completed their Bachelor-level education at the time of submitting the application shall attach photocopies of official documents that: demonstrate full completion of Bachelor-level education, and indicate studied subjects and obtained grades. The above requirements can be usually fulfilled by submitting an appropriate combination of the following documents: Bachelor diploma, and Diploma supplement, and/or Official university transcripts of the Bachelor study. b) Applicants who are studying in their last year of a Bachelor degree study program at the time of submitting the application shall attach photocopies of
official transcripts that indicate studied subjects and obtained grades in all finished semesters. Such applicants will be required to submit documents that demonstrate successful completion of their Bachelor-level studies at the enrollment. 3. A photocopy of the applicant s passport (open at the page with the photograph and identification data). 4. With the exception of native English speakers, applicants shall attach a photocopy of a certificate that demonstrates their proficiency in English comparable to or exceeding the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Suitable documents include, but are not limited to, the following: IELTS score 6.5 and above, or CAE Certificate of Advanced English, or CPE Certificate of Proficiency in English, or BEC 3 Business English Certificate 3, or CEIBT Certificate in English for International Business and Trade, or STANAG 6001 level 3, or TOEFL paper-based test score 550 and above, or TOEFL CB score 213 and above, or TOEFL ibt score 79 and above, or Pitman Higher Intermediate (Level 2) or Advanced (Level 3), or International ESOL and Spoken ESOL Expert or Mastery, or ILEC International Legal English Examination (Cambridge), or Czech State Examination in English (General or Special level), or a document showing that English was the teaching language at the applicant s high school or university. 5. Optionally, applicants are encouraged to submit photocopies of any documents that demonstrate their significant personal achievements or professional or academic excellence in informatics, mathematics, physics, or other math-based disciplines. Examples are programming contest awards, participation on research projects, best student paper awards, and so on. At enrollment, applicants must present the originals of all submitted documents for verification. Data in the application must be true and complete. False or incomplete data can result in rejection of the application form the admission procedure and possibly later exclusion from the studies. All documents that are not in Czech, Slovak or English shall be accompanied by a certified (sworn) translation into Czech, Slovak or English (a photocopy of the translation shall be sent by postal mail, the original shall be presented at enrollment). 5. Evaluation of applications There are no entrance tests to the Informatics MDSP for the academic year 2015-16. Instead, the Admissions Committee recommends admission or non-admission based on the applicant s grades from the Bachelor degree program subjects shown in the diploma supplement, transcripts or equivalent documents, while taking into account any significant documented achievements. 6. Enrollment Admitted applicants must appear, in person, at FIT Office for Studies on 21 st September 2015 in order to enroll. The exact place and hour will be published on the FIT official noticeboard at http://www.fit.cvut.cz/en/fakulta/deska and specified in the admission letter. Applicants who cannot attend the enrollment on this date for serious reasons must inform the Office for Studies by e-mail or postal mail no later than on 19 th September 2015. For such applicants, another enrollment date will be scheduled individually. Applicants who fail to attend the enrollment and fail to inform the Office for Studies in due time will not be enrolled. 7. Fees and payment terms According to Appendix No. 7 of the Statute of CTU, the fee for the admission procedure is 500 CZK (five hundred Czech Koruna). The fee must be paid when submitting an application the application will be accepted only if the fee is paid. The admission procedure fee is nonrefundable. The tuition fee for one semester of the Informatics MDSP is 64000 CZK (sixty four thousand Czech Koruna). The tuition fee for the first semester must be paid without delay after the applicant is asked by e-mail to do so, in any case no later than 31 st May 2015. The tuition fee is non-refundable, except for serious circumstances that prevent the accepted applicant from enrolling (such as failure to obtain the visa to the ). In such a case, the applicant shall submit a request and supporting evidence to the Dean, who then decides about returning the fee. The tuition fee does NOT cover accommodation, food, transportation, books, medical insurance or other personal expenses. All payments shall be made by wire transfer, credit card, or by another payment method supported and approved by FIT. All transaction fees and charges associated with the payment shall be borne by the applicant. For wire transfers: Wire the money to the following account. Within the first year of their studies, the applicants must complete the process of official recognition of their bachelor-level education in the. The process requires more documents than this admission procedure. Applicants are urged to obtain all the necessary documents before arriving to the. Due to sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council and the Council of the European Union, citizens of Iran and North Korea are not eligible to apply.
