CORSO DI LAUREA MAGISTRALE IN FASHION CULTURE AND MANAGEMENT (FCM) SEDE DI RIMINI Application to the 2 nd Cycle Degree Programme in Fashion Culture and Management (FCM) Code 9022 Course class: LM-65 Performing arts and multimedia productions Academic Year 2018/19 The 2 nd cycle degree programme in Fashion Culture and Management (FCM) is an open access degree programme with assessment of personal competencies and skills. AVAILABLE POSITIONS FOR THE PROGRAMME Non EU applicants: 50 positions EU applicants: without limitation ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To successfully attend the 2nd cycle degree programme in Fashion Culture and Management, candidates need to have basic knowledge of fashion, communication, the visual arts, design, photography and sociology; they need to be able to recognize the characteristic elements of styles and the main contemporary cultural trends, particularly focusing on the creative dynamics of fashion; they need to understand the fundamentals of design, production processes and economics of the fashion system today; they need to be able to organize a critical discourse in oral, written and visual form; they need to have the language competences required to understand specialist texts in the English language. To be eligible for admission, candidates must: - Hold a first cycle degree 1 or an equivalent degree achieved in another educational system, in one of the following degree classes (the degree classes apply only to students who obtained their degree in the Italian academic system in case of foreign qualification 2 see footnote 2): 1 Graduating students can apply to this programme if they plan to graduate at latest within the deadline for late enrollment established by the University of Bologna (usually around the end of December; see http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuition-fees-and-exemptions/tuitionfees/deadlines-and-fines-for-late-payments for further details). See also Important Indications for graduating applicants, p.5. 2 NOTE FOR APPLICANTS WITH FOREIGN QUALIFICATION: In the case of degrees earned abroad, the assessment of curricular requirements is based on the evaluation of the exams taken (transcript of records). Important: The Degree Programme Board assesses only the substantial aspect of the degrees, based on the copies of the degrees and certificates provided and on the Diploma Supplement, if applicable. - Pass an interview in English with the Admission Board for the evaluation of the personal competencies and skills in the fields of fashion, communication, visual arts, design, photography and sociology. The interview intends to assess the candidates competences, aptitudes and their basic knowledge in the fields mentioned above and has the average duration of 10-15 minutes. Connect to www.studenti.unibo.it by using your personal User ID and Password. Click on Prove di Ammissione / Entrance Exams. 5. Select Laurea Magistrale / Second cycle degree programme and then procedi / next. 6. Select the programme FASHION CULTURE AND MANAGEMENT FCM (you can register only to the intake available at the moment of your access). 7. Upload all the required documents in PDF format: Application Form (to be downloaded on the course website and to fill in) Copy of valid identity card (EU citizens) or passport (non EU citizens/eu-citizens); Copy of 1 st cycle degree (with transcript of records/list of passed exams) translated in English or Italian if in other languages; (graduating students can upload their current transcript of records while waiting to obtain their 1 st cycle degree. Please indicate your estimated graduation date in the Application Form). CV (curriculum vitae et studiorum) written in English; Copy of English level certification (if held); If applicable: copy of Italian stay permit / permesso di soggiorno. IMPORTANT INDICATIONS FOR GRADUATING APPLICANTS Graduating students can apply to one of the intakes if they plan to graduate at latest within the deadline for late enrollment established by the University of Bologna (with payment of progressive additional charges, following the deadlines and procedures indicated on the UniBO website http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuitionfees-and-exemptions/deadlines-and-fines-for-late-payments - refer to the payment deadlines indicated for Degree Programmes without a call for application). In any case, the enrollment procedure can be completed only after having obtained the 1 st cycle degree, and respecting the deadlines indicated on the UniBO website http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuition-fees-andexemptions/deadlines-and-fines-for-late-payments. When proceeding with the online application, graduating applicants can upload their current transcript of records, while waiting to complete graduation (please indicate your estimated graduation date in the application form). EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS AND INTERVIEW The Admission Board will view the uploaded documents regarding their completeness, compliance with the deadlines and with the general admission criteria. If your application is evaluated as valid, you will be invited to proceed with the interview in English with the Admission Board for the evaluation of the personal competencies and skills. The interview intends to assess the 5

candidates competences, aptitudes and their basic knowledge in the fields of fashion, communication, visual arts, design, photography and sociology (average duration: 10-15 minutes). The interview will lead to an evaluation of eligibility or non-eligibility for admission to the programme. (N.B. If you are evaluated as non-eligible in the interview, you could not enroll to the programme nor apply to subsequent intakes for the academic year 2018/19.) IMPORTANT INDICATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS 5 : PRE-ENROLLMENT Non-EU applicants living outside Italy, in addition to compliance with the rules and deadlines established by the University of Bologna, must pre-enroll at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country within the deadlines established by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). PRE-ADMISSION LETTER Non-EU applicants evaluated as eligible in the interview will receive a Pre-Admission Letter in PDF format, which they may submit to the Italian Embassy/Consulate in their country of residence, in order to facilitate the pre-enrollment and visa procedure. It is applicants responsibility to check the pre-enrollment and visa procedures carefully. N.B. The Pre-Admission Letter refers only to the candidate s successful evaluation by the Degree Programme Board. It does not imply the confirmation of the qualification s authenticity and legal validity for enrollment at the University in Italy. Unconditional admission will be carried out by the International Desk Rimini / Student Administration Office only after the formal verification of the original documents. This verification includes the following elements: degree title, nature, duration and level, institution that issued it, previous education, academic rights and actual issue of the qualifications. ENROLLMENT FOREIGN QUALIFICATION (EU and NON-EU APPLICANTS) Applicants with foreign qualification evaluated as eligible in the interview will be admitted to the final enrollment conditionally on the legal validity of their 1 st cycle degree.
