Autumn Term 2 Sports Desk Both our girls and boys Football teams continued their journeys in the Hampshire Cup after the half term break. Both games were hosted at Freegrounds with Oakley School from Basingstoke playing the girls first. After taking a well earned lead we were unfortunately pegged back soon after, and with the game looking like it would go to penalties, Oakley managed to perform the move of the game ending with a fabulous goal to edge us out 2-1. Well done, it was a great effort! The boys then met Springhill School from Southampton two days later, and what a great game! Both teams played some fantastic football but it was Freegrounds who eventually progressed into the next round after a well fought battle, winning 2-1. Well played, you deserved the win! We also took part in the annual Dodge Ball Festival at Wildern this month, with a Year 5 team representing the school. The children had a fantastic time winning four of their six games, massively improving every match. We also saw the start of a much anticipated round of House competitions, starting with Football. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather and have managed to play both the Year 3-4 boys and Year 5-6 boys competitions, with the Year 5-6 girls to follow shortly. All year groups have played some fantastic football with an amazing fair and competitive spirit. The winners of the Year 3-4 competition were Russet, with Empire winning the Year 5-6! Fantastic effort from everyone, well done!!! After School Clubs The Autumn 2 after school clubs started Monday 5th November, and will run for five weeks. Change of day for Arts and Craft Club On Monday 26th November we are on INSET day, Arts and Crafts Club will be on Tuesday 27th November for that week only.
