Thank you for your interest in the Overman Family Scholarship Fund. The Boys & Girls Club of Duluth created the Overman Endowment Fund in 1978. The purpose of this endowment fund is to provide financial assistance to Club Members who have a desire to further their education beyond high school. Scholarships will be offered for vocational or technical training, college or university programs (post-secondary education). Application Procedure Each New Applicant must: 1. Be or have been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland; 2. Submit a copy of the student s current high school transcript; 3. Write and submit a personal essay about how the Boys & Girls Clubs had an impact on your life and influenced your desire to seek higher education; 4. Complete and submit the Scholarship Application; 5. Submit a minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation; one (1) personal and two (2) professional from an employer, school faculty and/or Club staff; 6. Copy of next semester class schedule; 7. Participate in a personal interview with the selection committee of the Board of Trustees. Interviews will be scheduled with each student individually and will be held approximately mid-may. Failure to appear for the interview will disqualify the applicant for the scholarship. These reports must be received by December and June respectively. The reports must include the student s semester or final grades at the time.

Personal Letter including academic progress and intent to continue schooling; 2. Copy of next semester class schedule; 3. Copy of the transcript (final grades) of previous semester, showing at least 2.0 GPA and enrollment in minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Award is contingent upon receipt.
