March 2018 Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon fon\;k nnkfr fou;e Best Global Business Plan Award - MAATI AIS 46 is the proud winner of the Best Global Business Plan, where in Students took up project, MAATI- The Soil of India by Amicreations. Calling themselves Team Maati, they tried to bring back to life the long lost Indian tradition of pottery. They even displayed their products on an Indian cart. It was a perfect amalgamation of moral values and business ethics which allowed them to keep up with the production and the demand of their products. Within three months, the team earned a profit of more than 200 USD. The team plans now to continue the project with the help of the commerce society of the school, CommUnity. Times NIE Student of The Year Award We are proud to announce that Keshav Maheshwari of class XII has received the prestigious Times NIE Student of the Year Award wherein he has been awarded with a trophy,a certificate and a gift voucher. Parent s Orientation Program for the new academic session -2018-19 Parent s Orientation Program was conducted on Saturday 17th March 2018 for the new entrants for classes II- IX.The programme commenced with the lighting of lamp followed by the heart rendering recitation of shlokas. Students welcomed the parents with their melodious welcome song and classical Dance performances. Principal Ms. Arti Chopra welcomed the parents and apprised them on the infrastructure and various activities taking place in the school. Parents were also explained about the usages and benefits of Amitranet. The counselor Ms. Deepika Tikoo and Ms. Shilpy spoke about the LEC and counseling facilities available in the school. Head Mistress Ms. Sonia Nagpal addressed the parents and updated them about the Amitranet usage. Parents also interacted with the block coordinators for further queries so that Amity becomes a home away from home for the little toddlers. Parent s Orientation Program for class I Parents Orientation Programme for Class I for the session 2018-19 was conducted on March 20, 2018 at 09:00 a.m. in the Multi Purpose Hall in the school premises. The event started with the lighting of the lamp accompanied with the shloka. The Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra welcomed new parents and acquainted them with the vision and the mission of the Amity School. She also shared with them the teaching methodologies and facilities provided to thechildren. Students of class II presented wonderful and versatile MI presentation. One of the main highlight of the event was a presentation on Starting school on the Right Note - by Dr. Kanika K Ahuja a well known Psychologist on Parenting and how parents can help in smooth transition of a child from the homely environment to the school life. It was a healthy interactive session wherein the parents queries were handled well. The academic coordinator Ms. Sumity Kapoor introduced her team of teachers to the new parents and also shared the assessment, homework patterns with parents. She also made them aware about the usage of Amitranet.Ms.Shilpy the special educator explained parents about the functioning of LEC.Dr. Tripti Chauhan informed parents about the medical facilities available for students at school.the parents were happy to be the part of the informative Orientation programme.
Parent s Orientation Program for class V Parents An Orientation Programme for Class V for the session 2018-19 was conducted on March 23,2018 at 08:30 a.m. in the school Multi Purpose Hall. The programme was designed to support child in making a smooth transition to the middle school. To mark the new beginning the event started at an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp accompanied with the gayatri mantra.a Classical Ganesh Vandana Dance performance was presented by students which mesmerised the audience. Principal Ms. Arti Chopra welcomed parents and shared the mission and vision of the schools.head Mistress Ms. Sonia Nagpal acquainted parents with the general guidelines and Amitranet usages. Students of grade V presented kinesthetic display of yoga and taekwondo. The academic coordinator Ms. Ranjana Sharma familiarized the parents with the examination pattern. The LEC incharge Ms. Deepika Chauhan and Dr. Ms. Tripti spoke about the counseling and medical facilities available in school. The orientation programme was culminated with the vote of thanks wherein seemed content with the information provided. Excursion to Lohagarh farms for Class - VIII Students of class VIII had a spellbound experience in their trip to Lohagarh Farms on 9th, March, 2018.It was a rejuvenating experience for them funfilled with many activities like dancing on beats, outdoor activities, mouth watering delicious food. All the students really enjoyed the trip and had a lifetime experience.
Excursion to Lohagarh farms for Class - III & IV Our school organized a fun filled picnic to Lohagarh on 27 th and 28 th February for students of Class III & IV. They had a great time in the camp with their teachers and classmates & enjoyed the rides and many adventures activities. They relished the delicious food served to them. It was a memorable experience for all the children. Workshop on Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO ACT) Considering the challenges of gender inequality, eve-teasing and sexual abuse in school environment, it is the call of the time to increase awareness and creating synergy among parents, teachers and schools. As per the directives issued from CBSE a workshop was organized for the teachers at AIS-46, Gurgaon on 1 st March,2018 to make them acquainted with the POCSO Act and Mental Health issues in childhood. It was conducted by Dr. Monica Kumar (Sr. Psychiatrist) and Ms Ujjwala from Manas Foundation which commenced with the lighting of lamp. Dr. Monica spoke about various kind of mental illness, its symptoms and the ways to handle the victim and its treatment. It was an informative session for teachers.

Ullas-A Kinesthetic Display Ullas-A Kinesthetic Display, was organised in the school premises which was witnessed by the parents of students from classes I,II III and IV. Our junior sports stars exhibited their soaring spirits in sports such as PEC, Basics of Basketball, Basics of Football, Taekwondo, Yoga and skating. The school principal, Ms. Arti Chopra congratulated the students for their impeccable performances. Aarogya - is one step forward in the making of a healthy nation Aarogya is one step forward in the making of a healthy nation. Aarogya shares its inception with the crucial issue of selfmedication becoming common in every other household. Self medication is the consumption of pills without the prescription of doctors. In addition to it, students noticed that the correct disposal of medicinal waste is still a far fetched goal to achieve! Apart from this, the students realized that many of us neglect the expiry date of the medicines and put our own health at risk. The students are driven by the passion to change the present situation and wish to be the change they want to see. Aarogya is the students' attempt to bring about a tangible change and ensure right way of consumption of medicines.
