Cañada College Accreditation: Why is it important to Classified Professionals? Flex Day Session: August 15, 2017 Jeanne Stalker, Tracy Huang, Gohar Momjian In this session classified professionals will learn about the accreditation process, understand how their expertise and perspective matters, and how their participation in accreditation is critical to the continuous improvement process in providing quality education and services.

Evaluation Criteria: The institution demonstrates that it assesses student needs for services regardless of location or mode of delivery, and allocates resources to provide for those services. How does the College organize itself to write the report? President Planning and Budgeting Council PBC/ Accreditation Oversight Committee (AOC) Editing and Design Team Accreditation Standard Teams Standards IA/IB, IC, IIA, IIB, IIC, IIIA, IIIB, IIIC, IIID, IVA, IVB

How much time do we have? Fall 2017 Identify teams for all standards Orientation(s) and kick-off for accreditation activities Teams gather evidence, identify areas of strength and weakness, suggest improvement plans Governance Councils review and provide feedback Spring 2018 Begin implementation of improvement plans Complete First Draft of ISER Governance Councils review and provide feedback Fall 2018 Continue implementation of improvement plans, cycles Update report sections with new information, data, evidence Complete 2 nd Draft of ISER Spring 2019 Governance Councils final review of ISER Finalize ISER Submit ISER to Board of Trustees Summer 2019 Submit ISER to ACCJC Fall 2019 Prepare College for visit External Team Evaluation Visit January 2020 ACCJC Review and Decision on Reaffirmation of Accreditation

Take the Accreditation Basics Online course to demonstrate Cañada College s commitment to accreditation standards Volunteer on Standard teams in area of expertise or an area you want to learn more about Read the Institutional Self Evaluation Report and provide feedback fact check it, feedback on what s missing Provide additional examples of College strengths and evidence in meeting or exceeding Standards Make suggestions for improvement to meet or exceed Standards Participate in discussions about accreditation during Governance Council and Planning meetings, and college-wide opportunities
