Road Safety Advisory The safety of all Crestians is paramount. We have been sharing with and reminding our Crestians measures to ensure the safety of themselves and others, both in and out of school. We seek your assistance to advise your child/ward not to use mobile phones or music devices while crossing the road as this may reduce their awareness of any upcoming danger. If your child/ward is cycling, please remind them to ride safely and responsibly. 2. GCE 'O' Level Mother Tongue Language Listening Comprehension 2018 In view of the GCE O Level Mother Tongue Language Listening Comprehension (LC) Examination to be conducted on Tuesday, 17 July 2018 for Secondary 4 Express and Secondary 5 classes, all Secondary 1 3 and Secondary 4N students who are not taking the examination will be dismissed from school at 1.00 pm. Please note that CCAs are cancelled on that day. This is to provide a more conducive environment for our graduating students taking the GCE O level LC exams. 3. Common Test The school s common tests in Term 3 will be scheduled from Monday, 30 July 2018 to Friday, 3 August 2018. The timetable and the topics/skills to be tested for the common test can be downloaded from the school s website from Friday, 13 July onwards. We seek your support in monitoring your child/ward in his/her revision so that he/she is fully prepared. The Common Test protocol is the same as that for the End of Year examinations, as part of the school s effort to prepare your child/ward for the latter. We would like to draw your attention to the following: If your child/ward is sick and is unable to sit for the common test on a particular day, a Medical Certificate from a doctor is required. Otherwise, the child/ward will be considered to have been absent and awarded a zero mark for that particular paper. Any student found cheating, or attempting to cheat, will be given a zero mark for the subject and may be barred from the rest of the common tests. Further action will be taken in accordance to the Student Handbook (see section on Examination Rules). PURSUE AND REALISE CHALLENGES

Any student who does not observe the rules for presentable appearance (school uniform, shoes, hairstyle, and fingernails) may be barred from sitting for the common test, and thereafter awarded a zero mark for the common test. 4. Racial Harmony Carnival As part of our efforts to commemorate Racial Harmony Day, the school will be organising a Racial Harmony Carnival on Friday, 20 July 2018. This event aims to create opportunities for Crestians to demonstrate their learning in the classroom in an engaging and interactive way, and to develop character and responsible citizenship in a creative and fun environment. The Secondary Two students will be organising food and game stalls for the school, with all proceeds from the carnival sales pledged in support of the Community Chest Youth Day Appeal 2018. Pre-event sale of the carnival coupons will be held from Wednesday, 18 July till Friday, 20 July. Your child/ward is strongly encouraged to support the event by purchasing these coupons, which will be sold at a cost of fifty cents each. Details of the Racial Harmony Carnival are as follow: Date: Friday, 20 July 2018 Time: 2.30pm to 6.00pm (Students will report to the school hall) Attire: Ethnic attire Crestians are encouraged to wear their ethnic attire for the carnival, while keeping in mind the following guidelines: General school rules will continue to apply; Sleeveless and/or low-cut tops, skirts above knee-length, revealing of mid-riff/torso, and see-through material will not be allowed; Ethnic attire must be entirely traditional, with jeans, tights and leggings not allowed; Only covered footwear is allowed, and traditional headwear is allowed only if it is an integral part of the costume; No makeup allowed and No jewellery is allowed (e.g. anklets, rings of any sort, necklaces, bangles, bracelets). Crestians are allowed to report to school in their ethnic attire. However, in the interest of safety, classes with PE lessons that day are required to report in PE attire for PE lessons; and classes with D&T, FCE, or F&N lessons, in full uniform for these lessons. For safety reason, please note that students will not be allowed to leave the school premises for lunch. They will have their lunch in school. 5. Cancellation of CCA There is no CCA on the following dates: Tuesday, 17 July Friday, 20 July Tuesday, 31 July O Level Mother Tongue Language Listening Comprehension Examination Note: All non-candidates are to leave the school at 1.00 pm. Your child is to submit his/her responses via LMS between 21 July and 27 July. You are strongly encouraged to discuss with your child his/her selection of subject combination. Please take note of the Additional Information and Qualifying Criteria in Annex A. Please note that this is only a preliminary survey. The school will be conducting a talk on the various subjects that will be offered in 2018 in Term 4. The actual subject combination to be offered will then be made known to you.
