The decided to take up the matter of the court case of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore (for Postgraduate) and Establishment of New Medical College at Jalna, Maharashtra (for Undergraduate), the decision were approved and signed by all members, together with an observation note of were submitted in sealed envelope. The considered the following cases of the colleges who were called for hearing by the on 5 th 6 th June, 2013 and 11 th & 12 th June, 2013. 1. Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Hyderabad for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 100 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 8 th & 9 th March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Hyderabad at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 100 MBBS students and decided to have physical verification of the compliance submitted by the college by way of assessment.
2 2. College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, Kalyani, West Bengal for renewal of permission for admission of 4 th batch of 100 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 29 th & 30 th April, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, Kalyani, West Bengal at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 4 th batch of 100 MBBS students and decided to approve/the permission for admission of 4 th batch of 100 MBBS students subject to submission of undertaking by the Chief Secretary of the State of West Bengal for completion of all the shortcoming/deficiencies. The also noted the undertaking submitted by the chief secretary of the State for the previous year. 3. Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad for increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 250 The considered the assessment report dated 29 th & 30 th April, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for Letter of Intent/Letter of Permission for increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 250 and decided to disapprove the proposal for increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 250 seats at Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. 4. GMERS Medical College, Dharpur, Patan, Gujarat for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 150 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 22 nd & 23 rd March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of GMERS Medical College, Dharpur, Patan, Gujarat at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 150 MBBS students and decided to approve subject to undertaking by the Chief Secretary of Gujarat State. (Office Note: The staff recruitment and other deficiencies pointed out in the assessment report, would be verified in inspection in 2014-15.) 5. Establishment of new medical college at Bettiah, Bihar by Govt. Of Bihar for 100 admissions. The considered the assessment report dated 2 nd & 3 rd May, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Establishment of new Govt. Medical College at Bettiah at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for Letter of Intent/Letter of Permission for 100 MBBS seats and it was decided to disapprove for establishment of new medical college, Bettiah, Bihar.
3 6. Government Sivagangai Medical College, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 100 MBBS Students. The considered the assessment report dated 11 th & 12 th March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Government Sivagangai Medical College, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 2 nd batch of 100 MBBS students and decided to refer back to UG committee to review the compliance submitted. 7. Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhuj, Gujarat for Renewal of permission for admission of 5 th batch of 150 MBBS Students. The considered the assessment report dated 22 nd & 23 rd March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhuj, Gujarat at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for Renewal of permission for admission of 5 th batch of 150 MBBS Students and decided not to renew the permission for admission of 5 th batch of 150 MBBS students as the college have failed to fulfil the criteria of owning and having total control of G.K. General Hospital and its handing over to GAIMS, documents submitted shows that only the administrative control is provided to GAIMS. 8. Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sheikhpura, Patna, Bihar for renewal of permission for admission of 3 rd batch of 100 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 12 th & 13 th March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sheikhpura, Patna, Bihar at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 3 rd batch of 100 MBBS students and decided not to renew the permission for admission of 3 rd batch of 100 MBBS students at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sheikhpura, Patna, Bihar. 9. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh for recognition of the college for 100 MBBS seats. The considered the assessment report dated 26 th & 27 th February, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for recognition of the college for 100 MBBS seats and it was decided to approve for recognition for 100 admissions annually subject to undertaking of
4 Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State for rectification of the deficiencies pointed out in the assessment report that would be done in time bound manner. 10. S.C.B. Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, Orissa for increase of seats from 150 to 250. The considered the assessment report dated 29 th & 30 th April, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of S.C.B. Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, Orissa at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for Letter of Intent/ Letter of Permission for increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 250 and decided to approve the proposal for increase of seats from 150 to 250 at S.C.B. Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, Orissa, on account of under taking submitted by the Principal Secretary. 11. Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka for continuance of recognition of 150 admissions annually & increase of seats from 150 to 200. The considered the assessment report dated 2 nd & 3 rd May, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka at the time of hearing on 12.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for Letter of Intent/Letter of Permission for increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 200 & also continuance of Recognition and it was decided to approve for continuance of recognition of 150 admissions annually and further to disapprove the proposal for Letter of Permission for increase of seats from 150 to 200 at Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka in the academic year 2013-14. 12. KPC Medical College & Hospital, Jadavpur, West Bengal for recognition of the college for 150 admissions annually. The considered the assessment report dated 14 th, 15 th & 16 th January, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of KPC Medical College & Hospital, Jadavpur, West Bengal at the time of hearing on 05.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for recognition of the college for 150 admissions annually and decided to approve the college for recognition of the college. 13. KMCT Medical College, Kozhikode, Kerala for Renewal of permission for admission of 6 th batch of 100 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 29 th & 30 th April, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of KMCT Medical College, Kozhikode, Kerala at the time of hearing on 05.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the
5 Section for Renewal of permission for admission of 6 th batch of 100 MBBS students and decided to approve the renewal of permission for 6 th batch of 100 admissions annually. 14. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok for renewal of permission for admission of 4 th batch of MBBS Students against the increase intake i.e. from 50 to 100 MBBS students. The considered the assessment report dated 1 st & 2 nd March, 2013 alongwith the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok at the time of hearing on 05.06.2013 alongwith the comparative chart prepared by the Section for renewal of permission for admission of 4 th batch of MBBS Students against the increase intake i.e. from 50 to 100 MBBS students and decided to provide hearing for submitting the documents of owning and possessing of the attached hospital, and/or extended MOU which has expired on 31 March 2013. II. Status of Consideration of Assessment Reports for Establishment of New Medical College /Increase of Seats (New) / Assessment report for Recognition / Assessment report of Renewal of permission / Assessment report of Renewal of permission against increased intake. 1. Establishment of new medical college at Manjeri, Malapuram, Distt. Kerala for 100 MBBS seats. The considered the assessment report dated 29 th 30 th April, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided that in view of the major deficiencies pointed out, college be given an opportunity of hearing to explain the deficiencies and shortage of infrastructure. 2. Establishment of New Medical College at Wayanad, Kerala for 150 MBBS Seats. The considered the assessment report dated 20 th 21 st May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided to approve for issuance of Letter of Permission for 150 seats, provided that the beds in ICCU, PICU NICU & SICU are made available as per MCI norms under intimation to the Medical Council of India. 3. Establishment of New Medical College at Gulbarga, Karnataka for 100 MBBS seats. The considered the assessment report dated 20 th 21 st May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided not to issue Letter of Permission for Establishment of New Medical College at Gulbarga, Karnataka by Govt. of Karnataka, in view of deficiencies pointed out in assessment report, college may submit compliance within 2 days after receipt of the letter.
6 4. Establishment of New Medical College at(north Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College), Malka Ganj, Delhi for 50 MBBS seats. The considered the assessment report dated 29 th 30 th May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided that in view of the major deficiencies pointed out, college be given an opportunity of hearing to explain the deficiencies and shortage of infrastructure and any other deficiencies pointed out in the assessment report. 5. Establishment of New Medical College at Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh for 100 seats The considered the assessment report dated 16 th 17 th May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided to approve subject to undertaking by the state Chief Secretary of the State of Andhra Pradesh alongwith the provisions of the budgetary allocation with time line. 6. Mohankumaramangalam Medical College, Salem - increase of MBBS seats from 75 to 100 & continuance of Recognition 75 Seats (compliance verification) The considered the assessment report dated 23 rd 24 th May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided to approve for continuation of recognition of 75 admissions annually and further decided to issue Letter of Permission for increase of seats from 75 to 100 admissions annually subject to undertaking by the State Chief Secretary/Health Secretary alongwith the provisions of the budgetary allocation with time line. 7. Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital, Chrompet, Chennai - Increase of MBBS seats from 100 to 150 in compliance of Hon ble Supreme Court Order & Continuance of recognition 100 seats The considered the assessment report dated 23 rd 24 th May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided to defer the matter due to pending CBI case. 8. Establishment of New Medical College at Chennai for 100 admissions by ESIC. The considered the assessment report dated 27 th 28 th May, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and decided to issue Letter of Permission for 100 admissions annually subject to submission of undertaking by the Chief Executive Officer, (ESIC) along with the provisions of budgetary allocation with time line.
7 9. (i) Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh - Renewal of Permission for the 4 th batch of 100 MBBS Students. The considered the assessment report dated 15 th 16 th March, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh for renewal of permission for the 4 th batch of 100 MBBS Students and decided to verify the compliance submitted by way of compliance verification assessment. (ii) GMERS Medical College, Valsad, Gujarat - Renewal of Permission for the 2 nd batch of 150 MBBS Students The considered the assessment report dated 1 st 2 nd April, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of GMERS Medical College, Valsad, Gujarat for renewal of permission for 2 nd batch of 150 MBBS Students and decided to verify the compliance submitted, by way of physical verification assessment of GMERS Medical College, Valsad, Gujarat. (iii) Govt. Medical College, Bhavnagar, Gujarat for renewal of permission for the 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS Students. The considered the assessment report dated 22 nd 23 rd March, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Govt. Medical College, Bhavnagar, Gujarat for renewal of permission for the 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS students and decided to approve/the permission for 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS students at Govt. Medical College, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. (iv) Navodaya Medical College, Raichur, Karnataka for Renewal of Permission for the 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS seats. The considered the assessment report dated 21 st 22 nd March, 2013 alongwith the notes of the Undergraduate Committee and the compliance report submitted by the college authorities of Navodaya Medical College, Raichur, Karnataka for Renewal of Permission for the 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS seats and decided to approve/the renewal of permission for 2 nd batch of 100 to 150 MBBS seats at Navodaya Medical College, Raichur, Karnataka.
