How to use this catalogue This catalogue has been produced so that both students and parents/carers have all the information on revision books in one place. This is designed to make the purchasing of revision guides much simpler for you. All of the books in this catalogue support students in Year 11 preparing for the Summer 2019 examination series. All of the books outlined are available to buy online via the online payment system. Once purchased by the parent/carer, the books are ordered by our finance team and then passed to the students at the academy on delivery. As an academy we are able to take advantage of buying in bulk and therefore often secure these books at a discounted price. We are able to pass this discount onto parents/carers, so the price on our online payments system is usually the same or cheaper as other retailers online. The prices stated in this catalogue are the approximate cost of each book at the time of publication. This is intended as a guide only. Accurate and up to date pricing for each book is available on the online payments system. We update this price if the publishers make a change to the cost of a particular book. As an academy, we are aware of the additional costs to parents/carers in supporting their children through GCSE courses. Therefore, this catalogue outlines recommended texts and optional texts. All books in this catalogue are worthwhile purchases and are promoted by the subject teams at Hanham Woods Academy. However, if you are looking to stagger your purchasing, then we would suggest buying the recommended texts first and then the optional texts second. Finally, in some subjects there are different tiers of entry (higher/foundation) and also some books are targeted at specific target grades. If you are unsure about which book to select, please discuss with your son/daughter before purchasing.
