St Catherine of Siena T: 9743 2166 E: principal@scmeltonwest.catholic.edu.au W: www.scmeltonwest.catholic.edu.au NEWSLETTER Term 1, Week 8 March 17th, 2015 Dear Families, An Irish Prayer May God give you For every storm, a rainbow, for every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, For every sigh, a sweet song, and an answer for each prayer. Taylor Bell, one of our school captains, will be shaving his head for The World s Greatest Shave on Wednesday. This initiative supports the Leukaemia Foundation and is a way of showing solidarity and support for those affected by cancer. On Wednesday,18th March Taylor will have his head shaved at school. If you would like to support Taylor in this any additional donations can be left at http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/taylorbell On Friday we had 215 children ride/ scoot/ skate/ or walk to school for National Ride2school Day. Our bike rack was well and truly full with the overflow kept in classrooms for safe keeping. Just before lunch we all assembled for a lap of honour The Lightning Premiership was held on Friday; in this event schools from the area play against each other in cricket, volleyball and bat tennis. Congratulations to all of our children who participated in this event and competed with a good team spirit, showed that they were good sports and were genuinely pleased with their performance regardless of the result. A special congratulations to the boys cricket team who won the final. The term is drawing to a close and once again our Parents and Friends Association have organised our Easter Raffle. This is our first fund raising event for the year and I ask all families to support this raffle by buying tickets or selling them to families and friends. Children are asked to bring an Easter egg, Easter bunny etc., as a donation for this raffle. These can be given to their classroom teacher or handed in at the office. Have a great week everyone. Carmel Marantelli PRINCIPAL SCHOOL FEES In 2015 families who have paid their school fees in full, or who are up to date with their direct debit by the end of Term 3 will go in to a draw for a terms fees deduction. This is well worth winning at the end of the year so put a plan in place now so we can include you in this draw. Term 1 Fees -$400.00 and Curriculum fee $275.00(per child) is now overdue if not already paid.
