ANNUAL REPORT 2016 SCHOOL OVERVIEW Darling Downs Christian School is a coeducational independent school providing a balanced academic, physical, social, emotional and spiritual program from Preparatory to Year 12. Established in 1942, the school is operated by Seventh-day Adventist Schools (South Queensland) Limited. All Seventh-day Adventist Schools in the South Queensland area form a single system, with each school being constitutionally tied to the central body. The central organisation controls the employment of teaching staff and is involved in financial matters and curriculum development. The school is governed at the local level by the Darling Downs Christian School Council. Mission: The mission of Darling Downs Christian School is to promote a redemptive relationship between each student and Jesus Christ while facilitating academic excellence and pleasure in learning, in a caring, disciplined environment.
