Instructions WARNING Check the date, time, lab allocation (according to index number) and seating arrangement before the actual exam. The information will be put up on the Notice Board outside Chemistry Lab 2. There is NO re-taking of any practical exam should you be absent on the day of the exam. On the specific days of the Science Practical Exam, report outside the corridor of Chemistry Lab 2, 10 minutes before the start of your own shift and check your attendance with your class monitress. Bring along your writing instruments, calculator, a rag and test-tubes for the practical exam. Do NOT bring in any of your notes, bags and unauthorised materials, etc., into the science labs. Do NOT attempt to pass any information by any means to your friends after you have finished the practical exam. Do NOT attempt to impersonate another student and take the practical exam on behalf of her. The above-mentioned will be deemed as CHEATING IN AN EXAMINATION and you will be severely dealt with. 6

2018 Secondary 4Exp/5NA Preparatory Examination Instructions to Candidates 1. Duration of the Preparatory Exam 2 May 14 May 2018 2. Exam Venues The Shaw hall will be the venue for written papers and LC (English Lang & Chinese). Special Rooms will be the venue for LC(Malay) and LC(Tamil). Science Practical exam will be conducted in the Science Labs. Music will be conducted in the specialised Music rooms. 3. Unauthorised Materials and Electronic Devices Unauthorised items, including mobile phones, smart wrist watches and electronic devices capable of capturing and transmitting information, except for approved calculators, are not allowed in the hall or other designated exam venues during the exam. Students who fail to comply with the above will be suspected of dishonesty, and disciplinary action will be taken against them. 4. Absence from Preparatory Exam Students who are unwell on the day of the exam are to call the General Office 62816606 to inform your Form Teacher / school of their absence. Students who are absent for any exam are to produce a medical certificate (memo to school. Excuse letters from parents are not accepted. No make-up exam will be arranged should a student miss the paper. 5. Bags and Belongings Students are reminded to put their bags in the holding rooms (designated classrooms). No bags or books should be left anywhere else in the school. The holding rooms will serve as rest areas for the students in between exam papers. However, the school rule of no eating in the classroom still applies at all times. Students should refrain from bringing valuables to school. (Valuables should keep safely in the locker if they have been bought to school). 6. Stationery and Identification Card Students are to place their NRIC/foreign student pass on the top right hand corner of their desks throughout the exam. An irregularity report will be filed against students who do not display a valid identification card. Students are to bring their own stationery (other than writing paper) for the exam. Borrowing of stationery is not allowed during the exam. Students should use only black or dark blue ballpoint pen during the exam, and 2B pencils for shading the MCQ answer sheet. Pens of other colours/pencils may be used for maps and diagrams only. Students are advised against using erasable pen for writing answers on their exam scripts. Students are encouraged to use transparent pencil cases. Students should not use correction fluid or correction tape on the answer script of the writing paper. Students are to place water bottles on the floor during the exam.

7. Toilet Break Students are advised to visit the toilet before entering the exam venue. 8. Cheating and Dishonest Acts Irregularity reports will be filed against students suspected of cheating or committing dishonest acts, and disciplinary action will be taken against them as decided by the Discipline committee. 9. General Discipline Students must be punctual for all exams. No extra time will be given for late comers. Students are to gather quietly in their classes outside the exam venue at least 10 minutes before the start of paper. Students must be attired in their full school uniform and ensure decorum before they are allowed to enter the exam venue. Students are to listen carefully to all instructions given by the Chief Presiding ue, complain or bargain with the invigilators. Students are to maintain silence upon entering the exam venue. Students are not to carry on writing once the announcement is made to stop writing. Students are to be considerate to others throughout the examination period. Students are not allowed to stay in the exam venue after the paper. Students are to assist in keeping the exam venue clean. All unused writing papers are to be returned to the invigilators. Used papers are to be thrown into the bins provided before leaving the exam venue. 10. Air-conditoning in the Exam Venue Students are advised to bring along their school jackets. 11. Hall Arrangement Assignment of tables & chairs in the Hall will commence on 2 May after morning assembly for 4E / 5NA students. 12. Daily assembly & Dismissal Time Students having exam papers on that day are to attend flag raising and morning assembly. Attendance will be taken. Students need not report to school if they are not sitting for any exam paper on that day. Students may leave the school after their exam paper ends unless otherwise stated. Last day of exam for Sec 4Exp/5NA is on 14 May 2018. Students are to report to school on 15 May 2018 as normal curriculum will resume. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil 4:13)
