Who can we look to for examples of stewardship? St. Elizabeth of Hungary or YOU! Our staff has received tickets, and when they witness a student displaying the virtue of Stewardship they will give that student a ticket recognizing them for their virtuous actions. Students will turn in their tickets to their classroom jar. At the end of every week, teachers will count their class tickets and place tally marks under their class name on the Virtue Board. We cannot wait to watch our Virtue Board fill up with virtuous acts! Congratulations! Congratulations to our 8th grade students who donated the most socks and underwear for the Catholic Daughters of America drive. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support this worthy cause, we demonstrated both October s and November s virtues! Our next service project for December will be adopting senior citizens for Christmas from the DePaul Family Center.

Third Grade Grammar Class Mrs. Meurin s third grade students are busy working on their sentence structures. Proper editing is key! Gratefulness brings joy to my life. How could I find joy in what I take for granted? So I stop taking for granted, and there is no end to the surprises I find. A grateful attitude is a creative one, because, in the final analysis, opportunity is the gift within the gift of every given moment. Mostly this means opportunities to see and hear and smell and touch and taste with pleasure. But once I am in the habit of availing myself of opportunities, I will do so even in unpleasant situations creatively. -from the book The Way of Silence: Engaging the Sacred in Daily Life Our Kindergarten students are enjoying recess on this beautiful day.
November 12, 2018 Dear SPX Families, We are pleased to announce that St. Pius X Catholic School is participating in the 2019 Catholic Schools Sweepstakes sponsored by Catholic Life Insurance. This tried and true program has helped Catholic schools raise more than $8 million. How does the program work? Catholic Life provides all prizes and all marketing materials. The grand raffle prize is the choice of a 2019 Ford F-150 truck; 2019 Ford Focus sedan or $20,000 prepaid VISA card. Additionally, someone from our school will have the chance to win a $1,000 Prepaid VISA Card. Catholic Life provides customized tickets and marketing materials at no cost to our school. The ticket stubs are turned into Catholic Life every two weeks until January 31. The winning tickets will be drawn on February 14, 2019. We have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 and will use these funds to be divided between scholarships and the general fund. Each family is asked to sell at least 20 tickets. It s easy to sell these tickets, all students are allowed to sell tickets after the St. Pius X weekend masses. Each student has received 20 tickets. Tickets must be turned in by January 31, 2019.
