Our 3rd Annual Bird & Burger Dinner was a huge success! We welcomed nearly 200 community members at the Club where we enjoyed a delicious meal together catered by Silla s Spoon and served with the help of our very own Junior Staff. We heard music presented by Matthew Simmons (above) and Scott Myatt. Page 2
Our speaker for the evening, Lieutenant Commander Orin Brett Clay, US Navy (Ret.), spoke on the night s theme Intentionally Move Forward and Success will Follow (right with Club Director Gladys Robinson and Board President John Hale). Club Director Gladys Robinson spoke about the growth of the club over the years and presented the table sponsors with artwork in appreciation. Board President John Hale thanked those who support us and gave donors a framed picture of our club members. Tim Hayes (right) was honored as the Volunteer of the Year for all of his hard work with our teens in his weekly Chef Club program. Our Junior Staff (above) closed the evening by singing R. Kelly s The World s Greatest. Page 3

Our K-2nd grade members had a great time with the Humboldt Junior Auxiliary hunting for Easter eggs and playing games. The hunt was held inside due to rain. We would like to thank Pastor Tom Spelling of First United Methodist Church for sharing with our members during a RAP session this month. Clockwise from top right: Lucas Henley, Joshua Koen, and Jaylan Dickey work on a Solar System poster during Science, which is taught by teachers from the school system as part of the 21st Century Grant.
