I came to Ohio State University with 19 credits from IB. With IB credits and even if I took the minimum number of credits, I would graduate early.
Many colleges/universities are going beyond the course credit option for IB SL and HL exam scores (5, 6, 7) and awarding scholarships or merit aid for the IB Diploma Texas A&M: At least 24 semester credit hours of course-specific college credit in subject-appropriate areas on all International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores of 4 or above as long as the incoming freshman has earned an IB diploma. While some course credit will be awarded regardless of a student s IB diploma status, some course credit at Texas A&M University may be subject to the successful completion of the IB diploma. University of Texas, Austin: IB Diploma (as opposed to an IB Certificate) are eligible for 24 hours of credit based on qualifying test scores of 4-7 on Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) exams.
University of Tulsa: 28 points or higher = 30 semester hours awarded (1 full year) + $3,000 year scholarship for a 3.0gpa or higher (83 average) University of Mississippi: minimum score 30 points=$6,000 year Clark University: 36 points with a score of 5 or higher in all six of their IB examinations will receive eight Clark units (one full year). Students who present an IB Diploma (a minimum of 24 composite points)will receive four Clark units (one semester). More comprehensive list posted on our College Counseling website
Individual IB Subjects are the most rigorous courses we offer in a particular area CAS, EE and TOK complement the IB and make a full program, which then makes the IB Diploma the most rigorous College applications ask are you an IB Diploma candidate? (Common Application and Apply Texas). Counselors confirm on a school report for Common Application
Transcript will explicitly reflect students who are IB Diploma Candidates for both junior and senior year Notation added: IB Diploma candidate (yes or no) Grades for all IB subjects and for TOK, but not for EE or CAS
