Knights Newsletter R I V E R R I D G E A T H L E T I C S. O R G March 26, 2018 The Countdown has Begun... The countdown to Spring Break has officially begun. March is the October of second semester. No breaks, mid-point of the semester, a busy schedule and unpredictable weather. As we bring a close to March, we look forward to a muchdeserved break and the push towards the end of the semester. All of our teams are in the final stretch of their region and area schedules and really grinding out their seasons. Injuries, fatigue, and rescheduling effects all schools. This is the point of the season where your preparation and conditioning come into play. All of our teams took a break this weekend to enjoy prom. Our kids and teachers looked great, everybody had a blast, and a huge thank -you to Joy Clarkston and her band of assistants for putting together a tremendous evening Edge of the Sword: SPRING SPORTS CLASSROOM CREATIVITY HONORS

Aces! Our tennis teams continued their winning ways this week while dancing through the raindrops. The Knights boys singles came through along with 2 doubles to help the Knights to a 5-0 sweep tonight at Sprayberry. Seniors Jack Ricker and Jack Mezzacapo extended their winning streak in straight sets tonight at Sprayberry. The Lady Knights extended their winning streak at South Cobb. Our number 1 doubles added another win to their record while freshman Bipasha Bipin gets her first region win with Mckenzie Woodham at 2 doubles! Both teams play several matches this week as they finish the regular season and head to the Region Tournament

Knights Newsletter Baseball continued their wining ways this week and hope to gather a few more wins before they hit the road for their Spring Break trip. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate this week and they will be able to pick up some important Region wins.

Lax The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosted their Senior Night during their home game versus North Cobb High School on Wednesday, March 21st. They honored their two graduating seniors Morgan Pavolony and Kat Dalrymple after the game, ushered by their parents, through a tunnel of our ROTC students and their own players. The team sponsors were recognized at halftime and thanked for their support. The Navy and Gold Girls Jr. Knight lacrosse teams were also announced and presented across the field. It began as a close game but ended with a great lead by the lady knights with a final score of 15-11. Senior Morgan Pavolony had a great night with 5 goals, Freshman Hannah Vecsey with 5 goals, Junior Hailey Efel with 3 goals, Sophomore Gabi Delao with 1 goal, and Sophomore Bridgett Murray with 1 goal. Sophomore Kyla Anderson had 9 saves for the night. It was a great night all around for the Girls Lacrosse Team!
