Year 2 School Visit Thursday, 15th November 2018 Nash Point Lighthouse, Bridgend As part of our Enquiry topic. Leaving school at 9.30 a.m. Returning at approx.2.30pm. Please ensure your child wears a coat/ rain jacket and suitable footwear as appropriate for the day. If your child takes school dinners, a packed lunch will be provided from the kitchen. A voluntary donation of 4.00 is requested towards the cost of this visit. We would ask that this be sent in to school as soon as possible. Parent helpers are required. Author of the Month During the month of October we will be celebrating the work of Eric Carle. Everyone within our school and parish community is invited to nominate their favourite author. The suggestion box is available for your favourite author nomination. If it s your birthday in April why not ask for an Eric Carle Book! Parental Consultations Monday 19th Friday 23rd November Parental Consultation letters have been sent out this week with each child. We ask that all request slips are returned to the class teachers by Wednesday 14th November so that time slots can be allocated where requested. Family Mass Sunday, 18th October at St. Peter s Church, 9.30 a.m. Children from Year 2 to Year 6 are invited to join the choir at Mass. P.E.Days We politely request that children bring appropriate kit and footwear to school on P.E.days. i.e. shorts/joggers/leggings, and t-shirts/sweatshirts, suitable for sports activities; not fashion items. Harvest Appeal For this year s Harvest Appeal, our Mini Vinnies group is collecting food items to donate to The Foodbank. They are asking for donations of UHT Milk, sponge puddings, long life juice, coffee, sweets and chocolate. The St Vincent De Paul Society would be grateful to receive tinned goods for their Harvest Appeal. Your support,as always is greatly appreciated. Diolch Nursery Snacks A polite reminder that Nursery snacks are 1.00 per week. All payments to be made at the school office. School Dinners The cost of school dinners is 2.50 per day, 12.50 per week. Dinner money has to be paid by Thursday morning, in advance, for dinners required the following Monday to Friday. If dinner money is not received by Thursday morning your child will need to bring a packed lunch from home. If you wish to pay for lunches to the end of the Autumn term i.e. Monday 19th November to 21st December the amount is 62.50 A reminder that as well as the main meal of the day, the kitchen can provide a choice of assorted baguettes/sandwiches and jacket potatoes. NB: The kitchen will require notice of any specific requests please! This is also available to children entitled to free school meals.
St Illtyd s Catholic High School Community Christmas Market St Illtyd s Catholic High School, in partnership with the Eden Bus, are once again holding a Community Christmas Market at the school on Thursday 29 th November, 4.00-6.00pm. Now in its sixth year, this has become a hugely popular annual event in the school calendar. Entertainment, refreshments, Santa s Grotto and many stalls selling everything you need for a great Christmas shopping experience. We are very grateful to Dominos, Rumney and to CJ Construction for sponsoring this event. All welcome. Free entry. We look forward to welcoming you to our school. Healthy Fruit Snacks At St Peter s we strive to encourage our children to stay fit and healthy, in body and mind, and in support of this we continue to run our Healthy Fruit Snack Shop. For 1.50 per week, we provide a piece of seasonal fruit to your child, currently an apple, banana or orange. Fruit options will change with the seasons.
