Careers Information Update ALL Careers unit in PSE where students are shown how to access Careerscape (same user name and password as Kudos) and taught about U-explore. Every student in Year 11 will have the opportunity to an individual interview by a Youth Connexions PA (interview must be kept). Check the monthly newsletter for the latest Careers information on the school website just look in the Careers subject area. Year 11 Information Evening for 6 th Form. Queens Careers Fair (South Hall). Mock interviews (Pupils will need updated CV for a 30 minute interview).
Year 11 Science Info Board: AQA Science A or Biology, Chemistry or Physics Two courses being offered, Dual (Core Science GCSE) or Triple (Bio, Chem & Phys GCSE) Triple GCSE is being taught to sets 1&2 in both half year groups as one of their options. Everyone has access to kerboodle a comprehensive online resource.
Year 11 Dual Science Most students will have completed one GCSE by the end of year 10; named Core Science GCSE, the rest will sit this in Summer. Biology, Chemistry and Physics are studied as discreet subjects which are examined in May/June. A practical exam called an ISA is worth 25% of this GCSE. Year 11 Triple Science Students will complete three GCSE s over two years. They will obtain three separate GCSE s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Again a practical exam for each subject will be taken worth 25% of each GCSE. There will be no external exams until the June 2016 exam series
MFL All MFL is with AQA: WRITING CONTROLLED ASSESSMENTS: 30% SPEAKING CONTROLLED ASSESSMENTS: 30% READING EXAM: 20% LISTENING EXAM: 20% YEAR 10: ONE WRITING AND ONE SPEAKING ASSESSMENT WILL TAKE PLACE.
