Service and allied sectors are growing in India, but lacks specialized managers to manage the changing needs of the sector. MBA-Public Systems focuses on four areas of specialization Energy, Environment, Healthcare and Hospital, and Transportation and Logistics Management. Professionals graduating from this course contribute to the corporations and society by addressing the growing challenges and demands of these sectors. 2. What are the Specializations available? MBA-Public Systems offer four specializations: Energy, Environment, Healthcare and Hospital, and Transportation and Logistics Management 3. What is the course duration? The program is 2-year Full-time Day Program 4. Is the course approved by AICTE? Yes 5. What is the degree that I get? All graduates get Master in Business Administration-Public Systems degree from University of Calcutta 6. What is the course fee? The course fee is Rs.3,75,000 payable as Rs. 1,96,500 in the first year and Rs. 1,78,500 in the second year. The fee includes a refundable caution and security deposit of Rs.10,000. 7. How many seats are available to the MBA-PS Program each year? Total numbers of seats are 120 for all four specializations. 8. What is the course structure? The program has 12 compulsory papers and 16 specialization papers spread across 4 semesters. Apart from this, a student is compulsorily exposed to industry with internship and dissertation during the 4 th semester.

9. What is the placement prospect? All students get placement assistance. As per record of previous years, more than 90% students get placed in their specialized field before they complete the course. In the current year the salary package already exceeded Rs. 6.4 lakhs per annum. 10. What are the scopes for further study? 17. What are the Group Discussions (GD) and PI (Personal Interview)? GD is a simulated exercise in B School selection process. The participants of GD gets the opportunity to show their listening, speaking (in English), reasoning, responding and other softskills while actively participating in a discussions on issues of social relevance in general in a group of up to 15 applicants. PI is a test of knowledge of an individual by a panel of experts both from within and outside the institute. The candidate is generally asked to say something about him/herself and then s/he may be asked questions of wide variety including why interested to pursue MBA, Mathematics and logic, Questions based on your application, General Awareness/Current Affairs, and even asked to give a small talk on any topic or ask any question that s/he would like to know from the Interview Board. This is the best place for the candidate to clear his/her doubts, if any, about the course s/he is choosing to pursue investing two years of his/her important part of life and hardearned money of his/her parents. English is the preferred language. However, if necessary, mother tongue may be used. All eligible or supposed to be eligible candidates are called for GD & PI (normally on the same day) at IISWBM by a Call Letter sent to their postal address by SPEED POST and by Email. They are also reminded by and SMS. Candidates submitting filled-up application form within seven working days of the scheduled date of GD & PI, should try to collect the Call Letter for GD & PI personally from the Office of PSM Department in the fifth floor of IISWBM premises either personally or by Email (mbapsadmission@iiswbm.edu). If the date of GD & PI coincides with their University Examination, they can apply for an alternative date. Candidates residing more than 200 km away from IISWBM may apply for use of Skype. If they are provisionally selected for admission, their original documents are to be verified in hes/her presence at IISWBM before issuance of Selection Letter. 18. What are the important dates? Submission of forms, GD and PI : Application forms submission is ongoing till 30 th June online submission is also allowed. Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD & PI) will be held during 22 nd to 24 th June at IISWBM and on 8 th July as per the schedule that would be mentioned in the applicant s Admit Card. Declaration of Result: The First Merit List of Short-listed Candidates will be published in the Institute s Website (www.iiswbm.edu) on 30 th June and the Second Merit List will be

published also in the Institute s Website (www.iiswbm.edu) on 9 th July. The Selection Letter follows by SPEED POST and Email to every Short-Listed Candidate. 19. How to submit the filled-up Application Form? Form downloaded from our Website: Fill-up the downloaded Application Form for Admission and also the SBI Power Jyoti Challan Deposit Rs. 900/- to any nearby State Bank of India branch using the above-mentioned Challan. Retain the Applicant s Copy of the Challan and enclose the IISWBM s Copy with the filled-up Application Form for Admission. Also enclose two sets of Photostat copies of all your marks-sheet and certificate of Class 10 (Madhyamik Examinations) onwards till date. Post (Registered or Speed Post) to the Registrar, IISWBM (in the postal address placed above) the Filled-up Application Form for Admission enclosing the IISWBM s copy of Challan after depositing Rs 900/-, two sets of Photostat copy of all marks-sheet & certificates from Class 10 (Madhyamik) Examination onwards till date and two passport size photograph. In this case, it is advised to keep a photocopy of the complete set with you as future reference and also Email (to mbapsadmission@iiswbm.edu) a scanned copy of the complete set. Alternately, the same may be submitted in the Office of the Registrar, IISWBM in the above-mentioned address. No. 21. Is there a capitation fee? No. The candidates need to pay only the fees mentioned in the prospectus.

22. What are the documents required while attending the counseling /admission? During counseling/admission, all the candidates are required to bring the original and attested copies of the following documents: a. Certificate and mark sheets of 10th and 10+2 standard. b. Certificate and mark sheets of graduation (only for post-graduate programs). c. Migration certificate from the board/university last attended. d. Rank card of qualifying examinations. If result is not declared, then attach admit card wherever applicable e. Reserve category certificate, if applicable. f. In case of any time-gap in studies, an affidavit declaring non-involvement in any criminal activity during the gap period and duly signed by an executive magistrate/ notary public is to be submitted by the candidate. g. Two additional recent, non-attested passport-size photographs with the candidate s name and date of birth clearly written on the reverse are to be submitted. 23. Is it necessary for the parents to attend / accompany children during counselling? No. It is not mandatory for parents to attend / accompany children during counselling. 24. Is there any dress code? No. All ethical dress is permission for attending the class. During Industry Visit, students are required to put on formal dress with shoes. 25. Is there any Sexual Harassment Committee within the campus? To provide a safe and secure work environment for the employees and student of the institute a Sexual Harassment Committee has been constituted. 26. Are any extracurricular activities promoted, or have facilities available for their Interviewing in Industry? There are plenty of facilities and activities for the overall personality development of every individual 27. Is there any agent who can help me in getting admission to IISWBM? No 28. No. All admissions are awarded strictly on merit and we don t have any management quota, reserved/ donation seats or payment seats of any kind. 29. Do I need to come down to IISWBM Campus / admission office to receive / submit the application form? No, the application form can be received by post and can be sent through post or courier. 30. What are the Steps for Selection followed at IISWBM? Step by step procedure to be followed at IISWBM for short-listing/selecting applicants seeking admission to MBA-PS Programme for the academic year -18 are as following:

Stage I: Completing and Submitting the Application Form Fill in the Application Form along with the required documents only if you meet the eligibility for admission to the program. Stage IV: Calculation of Composite Score The composite score is calculated on the basis of relative weightage in four categories, viz. Academic Qualifications [10th standard, (10+2) standard, Bachelor s degree level aggregate percentages] and

Stage V: Offer of Admission All selected candidates will get intimation of their selection through a Selection Letter by speed-post and email. The list of selected candidates will also be available at IISWBM and Calcutta University websites. Details regarding payment of fees at the time of admission, time and venue for commencement of the academic session will be mentioned in the selection letter. Offer of admission will be valid only for the specific program opted by the candidate as well as for the same academic session. Admission is given provisionally as specified in the letter. The offer of admission will automatically stand cancelled if the conditions are not fulfilled by the stipulated time. A Note on Selection of Specialization The candidate willing to take admission to MBA-PS must finalize their selection of any ONE specialization for which s/he is suitable/eligible out four viz. Energy Management, Environment Management, Healthcare & Hospital Management and Transportation & Logistics Management, before leaving the Personal Interview (PI) Board. Transfer from one specialization to another is not allowed.
