MA110 Medical Terminology Course Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Construct medical terms from selected prefixes, suffixes, and root words by applying terminology rules; 2. Pronounce medical terms correctly by interpreting phonetics; 3. Spell selected medical words correctly; 4. Define a medical term by breaking it down into word elements; 5. Identify standardized abbreviations used by medical personnel; 6. Choose appropriate medical terminology for professional communication; 7. Identify the legal importance of using correct terminology on all medical documentation; and 8. Utilize medical terminology to correctly represent the body system anatomy, pathology and treatment.
