II Reservation are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, MUSLIM, ETB, LC/SIUC, OBH & BPL (Forward Caste) categories as per the reservation principles of Government of Kerala as adopted by the University. Teacher Candidates for Govt./Aided Institutions with continuous Regular/Employment Service will be given weightage of 1 mark each for every completed year (maximum of 5 marks). III Entrance Examination The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Calicut University Campus on 13.07.2013 (tentative). The examination will be of 1 hour duration and will have 100 objective type questions of 1 mark each. The question will be from the Syllabus of Calicut University B. Ed. How to apply Candidates should submit the application online through the website www.universityofcalicut.info. Candidates should take a printout of the online application after submission. The signed copy of the printout along with the original chalan receipt for having remitted the fee of Rs.300/- (Rupees Three hundred only) (for SC/ST - Rs.100/-only) to Calicut University Funds (no other mode of remittance is accepted) in Govt. Treasuries/Designated Branches of SBT/Janasevanakendra, attested copies of S. S. L. C (to prove age), B. Ed Mark lists, B. Ed Provisional/Degree Certificates, Equivalency Certificate, Community/Non Creamy Layer/BPL(forward caste only), Disability Certificate, Service Certificate in Form IV (see Annexure) should reach the office of the Department of Education, Calicut University Campus, Calicut University (P.O), Malappuram District, Kerala, PIN -673635 before the last date notified by the University. The Allotment to the Affiliated Colleges will be made to fill the merit seat (50% of Total intake). The seats not availed by the SC candidates will go to the ST candidates and vice versa 2. The seats not availed by the SC/ST candidates will be filled from OEC category. 3. The seats not availed by OBC candidates will be allotted to candidates from general merit list. 4. The seats in any reservation quota left unfilled will go to General Merit. Quota for Physically Handicapped. 3% of the total seats available are reserved for candidates with physical disabilities. Person with disability means a person suffering from not less than 40% of any disability as certified by a medical authority. Generally, candidates who have a minimum of 40% disability alone will be eligible to apply for this quota. 5
Quota for Muslim, ETB, OBH & OBX Candidates claiming Muslim, ETB, OBH & OBX reservation should produce Non- Creamy Layer Certificate obtained within 6 months from the date of submission of application for this quota. Quota for SC/ ST For claiming reservation under SC/ST quota, candidates should produce the Community Certificate issued by the Tehsildar in original at the time of counselling. Lakshadweep candidates should produce Nativity Certificate issued by Lakshadweep administration. The seats not availed under this category will go to Non Creamy Layer OEC candidates. Quota for BPL Forward Class BPL candidates who belong to communities, which do not have any communal reservation, are eligible for this quota. Community Certificate from Revenue authorities and BPL certificate from the Local Self Government Institution should be produced at the time of counselling for availing the reservation under this category. Procedure for online application. 1. Candidates can apply for the Entrance Examination online through the website www.universityofcalicut.info. 2. The candidates should remit the fee of Rs.300/- (Rupees three hundred only) by Chalan (no other mode of remittance is accepted) to Calicut University Funds in Government Treasuries/Designated Branches of SBT/Janasevanakendra. (Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Calicut payable at State Bank of Tranvancore, Calicut University branch accepted only in the case of out of State candidates). 3. Log on to www.universityofcalicut.info, click the link for online application and upload a recent photograph (150 pixles width X 200 pixles height) as directed. Fill in all the columns in the application form and submit. After submission take a printout of the filled in application and note the online registration number automatically generated by the system. This online registration number is necessary for downloading hall ticket later. 4. The print out of the filled in application along with Original Chalan receipt and attested copies of all other necessary certificates is to be submitted by hand or by ordinary post only. Rank list and Counselling. Rank list will be prepared on the basis of B. Ed marks and Entrance marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examination and will be published in the University website www.universityofcalicut.info along with schedule for counselling. Centralized counselling for admission will be held in Calicut University Campus. No intimation will be sent to individuals for the counselling/admission. Candidates are advised to visit the University website frequently or to go through the University press release in the leading dailies. Allotment of seats on each category will be purely based on the rank secured by the candidates. The candidates, who secure a higher rank, will be given priority to select the Centre of their preference. Income Certificate/Community Certificate/Non-Creamy layer Certificate/Nativity Certificate/Disability Certificate as applicable for claiming reservation. General 1. Applications received incomplete, delayed and/or without original chalan for Rs.300/- will be rejected without notice. 2. Enquiry regarding the receipt of application will not be entertained. 3.
