The Governors, Senior Leadership Team and staff of Crestwood College believe that smart schoolwear forms an essential part of the school ethos. All students attending Crestwood College are required to wear the correct uniform at all times. The school reserves the right in all matters concerning uniform to decide what is and what is not acceptable. If parents or students require further clarification on any of the regulations listed below please contact the Head of Year in the first instance. Year 7 11 Uniform Compulsory for all students: Black blazer with Crestwood logo to be worn to and from school and between lessons. Blazers can be removed during lessons at the teachers discretion. Regulation blazers must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh. White shirt, long or short sleeved must be suitable for wearing with a tie and tucked in at all times. Burgundy tie, blue stripe (clip-on) To be worn by yr 7-10 students at all times. Burgundy tie, gold stripe (clip-on) To be worn by yr 11 students at all times. Black tailored trousers or black knee length skirt - No leggings, skinny jeans, jeggings or tight trousers are permitted. No stretchy skirts permitted. An example of suitable skirts and trousers, including purchase details is attached. Black or dark grey socks or black/natural colour tights patterned or coloured socks/tights are not acceptable. Black, low heeled, sensible shoes - No trainers, boots, sports shoes, plimsolls or canvas/fabric shoes are to be worn. Please see attached examples of what is and what is not acceptable. Optional for all students: Burgundy jumper, with Crestwood logo If worn, this must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh Burgundy cardigan, with Crestwood logo - If worn, this must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh Black/Dark coat Coats should be of a plain colour and of unpatterned material. No large lettering or logos are permissible. Coats are only to be worn to and from school. Where, for religious reasons, parents wish a girl to wear a headscarf at school this should be plain, black or burgundy and a written request should be sent to the Headteacher. Individual needs based on religious and cultural practices will be agreed on an individual basis.
PE kit - Compulsory for all students: Light blue PE shirt, with Crestwood logo must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh Navy Blue shorts White ankle socks Trainers - No plimsolls are to be worn and trainers should be done up correctly. No football strips, coloured shirts or socks are acceptable. All PE items should be clearly labelled with student s name. PE kit - Optional for all students: Navy blue tracksuit bottoms Navy blue fleece, with Crestwood logo - if worn, this must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh. Fleece to be worn during practical PE lessons only. Light blue/navy rugby shirt, boys if worn, this must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh Navy blue football socks GCSE PE hooded tops are only to be worn during practical PE lessons. Availability All items of uniform bearing the Crestwood logo must be purchased from the school or SkoolKit, Eastleigh. All optional, non logo items can be purchased from any major high street stockists as long as the items comply with the above stated uniform regulations. Uniform Grants Uniform Grants are available for students in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 10. If your child is entitled to free school meals and attends a Hampshire secondary school, he/she will also be entitled to a school uniform grant. To apply for this grant you can obtain a form direct from the school office or download the form from the Hampshire county Council website. Jewellery The only permitted items of jewellery are: A watch A single stud in each ear lobe No other piercing is permitted, eg Nose stud, tongue, eyebrow, lip. Retainers, spikes and expanders are not permitted. Only where the religion dictates can religious symbols be worn.
No wristbands, bracelets or necklaces are permitted. Badges can only be worn if they are of school issue. Make-up Make-up is not permitted Students are not allowed to wear nail varnish or false/acrylic nails to school. Hair No extreme haircuts No cuts shorter than a grade 2 No coloured hair, eg natural colour only No tramlines, razor cuts, beading or braiding Hair is to be kept neat and tidy at all times. Long hair may need to be tied back during certain activities due to Health and Safety requirements. Hairbands etc should be discreet and of a plain dark colour. The wearing of clothes or items which do not comply with the regulations above is not permitted at Crestwood College and may result in sanctions being taken as deemed necessary by the staff and governors.
