Position Title: Pediatric Cardiology, Director of Echocardiography/Noninvasive Imaging Req # 02534 The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Cardiology, seeks a full-time faculty member who will serve as the Medical Director of Pediatric and Congenital Echocardiography/Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging for its expanding program. The desired candidate will have completed three (3) years of fellowship in pediatric cardiology with an additional year of extended training in advanced congenital cardiac imaging and have three-plus (3+) years of pediatric echocardiography practice experience. Candidates must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the most recent technological advances. Expertise in fetal echocardiography and/or cardiac MRI/CT is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities and have a track record of team building. The Director of Echocardiography/Noninvasive Imaging for the Section will provide direct patient care and participate in fellow, resident, and medical student teaching. The recruitment is part of an expansion of the fetal cardiology/mfm program and the successful candidate will take a leadership role in these efforts. A fourth-year training year in non-invasive imaging or equivalent experience in transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography is required. Development of telemedicine to support the growing neonatal/mfm network and outreach will be a key component of this effort. A demonstrated commitment to academic and clinical excellence in Pediatric Cardiology and Echocardiography, including fetal echocardiography, with leadership and management skills to ensure high quality clinical service is required. We are seeking a pediatric emergency medicine physician to lead the Pediatric Emergency Medicine program with the overarching goal of enhancing its clinical and academic excellence. This position requires a collaborative physician leader who is an experienced mentor willing to exploit the strong opportunities for academic and clinical development of the faculty and staff of the section and the emergency room. The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital is a 155-bed facility with state-of-the-art technology and amenities that offers world-class medical care to children from around the Chicagoland area and across the globe. The next Chief of the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is anticipated to be an accomplished clinical or translational researcher with a focus on new diagnostics or therapeutics, clinical trials, quality and/or health outcomes. (S)he will not only implement investigator-initiated clinical trials in specific areas of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, but also participate in multi-center and University of Chicago-based IRB approved studies in the section. The new Chief must be committed to promoting and increasing investigator-initiated scholarship and engaging in the training and professional development of Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows, residents, and students.
