As you will see from Arno s report below, it was pretty intimidating with many schools fielding large teams but they did their best and had a great day. Well done Arno B, year 6; Cassius McD, year 6; Ned V.D.H, year 6 and Eliza B, year 5. You are invited to an afternoon of celebration and information Are you up for an afternoon glass of bubbly champagne or water and a peak at what our school may look like by the end of 2019? Come and see where we are up to with the latest Schematic Designs for our school. School Council invites parents and carers to an afternoon of celebration and information on Thursday, 6 th September, starting at 2.30pm. Celebrate the hard work our community undertook in 2017 (and the many years previously!) to attract additional funding to develop a master plan and repair our beautiful heritage school. Come into the Hall, enjoy a glass of champagne on arrival and we will have the latest design concepts and associated works on display for you to see. Meet up with other parents and wander along and discuss how the plans will improve our school into the future. The architects from ClarkeHopkinsClarke, will be there to answer your questions and discuss the design concepts and ideas to date. 1 P a g e
At 3.00pm, the architects will give a brief presentation for 10 minutes and open up for a general Q&A. Our School Council President will also be in attendance to discuss the Council s perspectives on where we are at as well. At 3.30pm, time to pick up the children and you are welcome to hang around to continue your discussions or head off home. We are keen to share with you where we are at so have scheduled this for the afternoon as we appreciate that it is difficult to get out to an evening meeting. Please join us in the afternoon, I look forward to seeing you there. Warm Regards, Kerrie PUPIL OF THE WEEK! 5/6J Ollie P 1/2H Rosie E 5/6T Charlie M 1/2L April E 5/6N Ned P 1/2S Olive P-S 5/6P Ava Smith 1/2A Lily W 3/4K Rosie C 1/2N Gemma F 3/4H Lucinda C 00B Edward McD 3/4M Kate M 00L Leo S-H 3/4B Angus I 00P Manon K-Q 3/4S Keeva M Victorian Interschool Skiing On Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st August NPS entered a team of 4 in the Victorian Interschool ski races. The competitors were Eliza Burge (girls slalom), Ned Van der Hoeven, Cassius McDermott and Arno Barton (boys slalom). The conditions were pretty gnarly with near gale force winds, freezing temperatures, face piercing hail and large groups of private schools prowling the course (we were wondering where the northcote primary school flag was?). Each race had over 200 entrants which made it chaotic and stressful, but we all agreed it was a rewarding challenge, and in the end was a lot more fun than the alternative. Arno Barton 2 P a g e
