Our hearts can be filled with gladness As hearts rejoice and sing St. Patrick s Opening of Term Two Mass All parents and families are invited to St. Patrick s Church on Thursday 3 rd May to join us in celebrating our St. Patrick s Primary School Opening of Term 2 Mass. The Mass will begin at 12:30 pm and Fr. Gary Jones will be celebrating with us. Public Holidays in Term 2 Please note that in Term Two we have two Public Holiday Days. The theme for this Fair is: Paws for Books The Fair will be held in the hall in Week 3 on Tuesday 1st May and Tuesday 2nd May at the following times - 8:30am 9:00am and 3:30pm 4:00pm The children will bring home invitations with further details of the Fair and some of the titles on offer. Payment can be made in the following ways: Cash or Credit Card (if you are unable to attend the Fair, please complete the credit card voucher on the Book Fair Invitation.) We would also appreciate some help with sales on the abovementioned dates. If you are able to assist, or if you need further clarification on the details of the Fair, please do not hesitate to contact the library, Amanda Labbett. Staff News It is with great pleasure we announce the recent appointment of Mrs. Kylie Mc Farlane to our staff team. Kylie will be working in the Year 3 / 4 class with Mrs. Ludbrook. We ask that you all make her very welcome. We have some more very exciting news from Mrs. Stott! Mrs. Stott has announced that she is expecting her third baby later in the year. 2 We are delighted for Anna and Ben and wish them every blessing as they look forward with great anticipation to their new addition to the family. A little brother or sister for Will and Jack.
Year F/1/2 Class I hope everyone had a lovely Easter holiday. This term we are looking for parent helpers to help out with reading in the morning. There is a timetable outside the classroom door. This Friday is our first swimming and gym lesson. Children will need to wear their bathers underneath their sports uniform. Please bring a towel, drink bottle and thongs in a swimming bag. I encourage you to pack two sandwiches as we will have an early lunch before leaving school and children will be very hungry when they return. We also send our sincerest sympathy to the Conroy family for the loss of a beloved Grandfather/ Father. Please keep them in your prayers Year 3/4 Class We are all excited to be back at school this term and we are looking forward to learning many new things. We welcome Kylie McFarlane to our classroom. She will be working with various groups throughout the day. We are sad to hear that Finn s grandpa passed away on the weekend. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family today. Please feel free to come and help in the classroom during reading time. Our reading lesson is after playtime. Homework is to be completed each week and returned to class on Thursday. Thank you for your support in this area. Year 5/6 Students in Year 5/6 will take part in interschool sports program beginning next Friday, 27th April. Games will take place between 1:30 and 3, with children returning to school by 3:30 pm. On swimming/gym days, the Year 5/6 students will travel on the school bus from the Aquatic Centre to the host school venue and then return to school on the school bus. Our Year 5/6 students will join with Sienna, Clarkes Hill and Dunnstown senior students to make up a great team for football and netball. Weekend Mass Times Clarkes Hill - Saturday 6.30 pm Gordon - Sunday 8.45 am Ballan - Sunday 10.30 am Welcome back to Term 2! We have a busy Term ahead with lots of creating and making in the Art room. Just a reminder that all children will need to have an Art smock to protect their school uniform. Also, If anyone has any coloured thick wool at home that you don't use, could you please bring it in for an Art activity that we will be doing in a couple of weeks time. ANZAC Day Parade in Ballan Wednesday 25 th April 2018 This year, the Ballan ANZAC Day service is to be held at the Ballan Cenotaph after the march from the Ballan RSL at 1pm. This year the School Captains have been asked to present a 2-5 minute presentation during the service. They will speak about a member of the Gordon community that served their country during World War 1 or World War 2. Students and teachers from our school have been invited to march in the ANZAC Day march. Children who participate from our school are asked to wear their school uniform for the ANZAC Day march, and represent our school with great pride, especially if they are wearing their relative s medals. Open Mornings for 2019 enrolments Our Open mornings will commence over the next few weeks and we are excited to showcase our school and promote new enrolments for 2019. If you have family or friends who may be considering a Catholic Education for their children, please do not hesitate to recommend our beautiful school and invite them to attend an open morning or phone the school for an information pack and private tour.
