Changes in 2018-19 in Technology Courses LHS will be offering University of Cincinnati School of Information Technology (UC IT) courses While in high school, students will have the opportunity to complete college coursework in IT College credit is obtainable through the CCP program Note: You do not have to apply and be a part of the CCP program to be in the course.

What is the Teaching Professions Academy? TPA is a 2-year program Students take 5 courses: Child and Adolescent Development Curriculum and Instruction Classroom Management Education Principles + Education and Training Capstone (Seniors - 2 Semesters)
First 3 Courses (Junior or Senior Year) Introductory classes where students learn about culture, history, issues, philosophies and methods of education Lots of cooperative and individual projects and presentations. Use of technology and other resources in the classroom. Field Trips to local colleges like Miami and UC to explore the field of education
Senior Year Seniors will take Education Principles (90 minute year-long course) Seniors go out to Loveland schools (LPS, LES, LIS, and LMS) and complete field work different placement each quarter (72-120 hours) Seniors write a portfolio using examples from the field work.
What if I am not sure I want to be a teacher? Or I KNOW I don t want to be a teacher? Is this class still valuable? YES!!!!!! We work on skills that will help you in college and in any career: Writing LOTS of it Public Speaking Organization Working with others PLUS the possibility of 3 credit hours is AWESOME.
