In addition, the program has been designed and planned that the labor needs of local industry can be positively met by training and graduating skilled workers. The HVAC program offers instruction in a diversified spectrum of occupations, which has been dictated by local employers and the Occupational Advisory Committee. Students successfully completing this program of instruction and passing the certification exams can expect to obtain immediate employment in one of the many related occupations. Classes included in the program are: Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Automatic Heating Oil, Gas, and Hot Water Electricity Troubleshooting EPA Refrigerant Containment Certification (Section 608) R-410a Refrigerant Safety & Training Green Awareness Training Part time classes begin September 8, 2014 Monday and Wednesday evenings 5:30 9:30 PM Program is approved for Pennsylvania CareerLink and New Jersey Workforce funding. Page 3 AUTO PA Enhanced Emissions Inspector Certification This course is for anyone planning to perform the PA enhanced emission inspection. Consists of training and testing. A valid driver s license, photo ID, and full payment are required at time of registration. Mat/lab include costs of textbook, CD, and 2 part exam. Course AM60 (16.5 hrs.) 10/6/14 10/15/14 or 3/9/15 3/18/15 Tuition: $140.00 Mat/Lab: $65.00 Monday and Wednesday (6 10 PM) PA Enhanced Emission Inspector ReCertification Re-certification of enhanced emission inspector is required every 2 years. This program will review the information necessary for exam. Valid driver s license, proof of Emissions Certification, and full payment are required with registration. Mat/lab includes costs of textbook and exam. Course AM63 (4 hrs.) Monday (6 10 PM) Available 8/25/14, 9/22/14, 11/10/14, 12/15/14, 1/12/15, 3/2/15, 4/13/15, or 5/11/15 Tuition: $49.00 Mat/Lab: $50.00 PA Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Certification CIT, in cooperation with the PA Department of Transportation, provides the necessary information and testing for Auto Technicians to become licensed as Safety Inspection Mechanics in Passenger Vehicles/Light Trucks (CAT 1), Motorcycles (CAT 2), or Heavy Trucks (CAT 3). Addition charges of $40.00 per category are incurred if CAT 2 or CAT 3 are necessary. Individuals must register with a valid driver s license and payment in full. Course AM30 (16 hrs.) 10/27/14 11/5/14 or 3/23/15 4/1/15 Tuition: $170.00 Mat/Lab: $10.00 Monday and Wednesday (6 10 PM) COMPUTER Computer Network Support Specialist Program An instructional program that focuses on the design, implementation and management of linked systems of computers, peripherals and associated software and prepares individuals with the technical skills required to support networks and network users. Included in the program: system design, architecture, operating systems, security, communications protocols, client support, messaging services, network management, troubleshooting and server optimization. A+ and Network+ Certification Exams are included within program. CIT requires enrollees to visit our facility and meet with a representative, please set up your appointment at 610-258-2448. Page 4 HVAC HVAC Technician Training & Certification Program The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning program is designed to meet the increasing educational and training needs of adults. Certification exams are included in this program. EPA Refrigerant Containment Section 608, Automatic Heating Oil, Automatic Heating Gas, and Hot Water Heating. Course #HV320 (280 hrs.) Monday and Wednesday (5:30 9:30 PM) - Begins 9/8/14 Tuition: $2,880.00 Additional mandatory program fees include: registration, mat/lab, tools, textbooks and exams. Individuals wishing to register for this program must meet with a school representative, make your appointment at 610-258-2448. MACH Machining I or II Course includes instruction in basic machine operations using the lathe and milling machines, blueprint reading, basic measurement tools, tooling types and material classifications. Safety is heavily stressed. Course #MT11 (72 hrs.) Monday (6 9 PM) - 9/22/14 4/13/15 Tuition: $560.00 Mat/Lab: $90.00 Fundamentals of CNC This course prepares the student with a basic understanding of CNC machining tool set-up and programming. Students will learn the fundamentals of the Cartesian Coordinate system, absolute and incremental modes of operation, linear and circular movements, canned plotting of cutting paths, managing tool libraries and post processing directly to machine control. Students can earn credentials through NIMS (National Institute of Metalworking Skills). Course #MT30 (36 hrs.) Wednesday (6 9 PM) - 10/1/14 12/17/14 Tuition: $350.00 Mat/Lab: $50.00 MasterCam Fundamentals and Basic Projects Learn programming utilizing MasterCam software. Create 2D geometry and solid models. You decide which course to enroll and when to start based on your needs. Students may begin any Wednesday evening from September 24 through March 2014provided there is room available in class. Learn how to set welding machines for AC and DC and t6he properties of welding electrodes and coatings. Learn padding and basic fillet welds in the flat position using various welding electrodes. Mat/Lab: $100.00 additional Shielded Metal Arc Welding Basic II Course #WE11 Learn various advanced welding techniques. Learn how to weld fillet welds in all positions using various types of electrodes in the vertical and overhead positions. Mat/Lab: $100.00 additional Shielded Metal Arc Welding Adv. I Course #WE15 Learn an introduction to welder certification and destructive testing techniques. Learn how to weld various types of groove welds in the flat position with and without backing strips. Page 7 GENERAL INFORMATION CIT offers certified programs in compliance with state regulations. Students select a specific field of study that consists of up to 1200 hours of instruction. After the culmination of the program, a certificate of completion is awarded in that field of study. REGISTRATION You may register in-person, by mail or by fax (610)258-0805 with credit card signature. Registrations must include a minimum of $40.00 deposit per course and Penn Dot programs must be paid in full. Registrations must be received 10 days prior to class date. OFFICE HOURS The CIT office is open for registration Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM 3 PM. Extended office hours 8 AM 8 PM begin on Monday and Wednesdays starting August 27, 2014. TEXTBOOKS Textbooks are an additional fee to be purchased first night of class. RETURNED CHECK FEE There will be a $25.00 fee charged for all checks returned. CIT CANCELLED CLASSES CIT reserves the right to cancel any program. Minimum and maximum class size will be determined by administration. 100% refund will be issued for courses cancelled by CIT prior to start of class. If CIT cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment after class starts, tuition and lab fees will be refunded on a prorated basis determined by the number of classes actually held. STUDENT CANCELLATION/WITHDRAW AND REFUND (CREDIT) POLICY Students who withdraw five (5) days prior to the first class will be reimbursed 100% of the tuition and material/lab fees. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted for each refund transaction. Students who withdraw before the second class will receive 100% tuition fee only. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted from the tuition credit for this transaction. Students who withdraw during or after the second class will receive a prorated credit certificate which will be good for one year from date issued towards another CIT class. However, there will be a $40.00 processing fee deducted for this transaction. No refund will be issued after the end of the second week of any class. No refund will be made for classes that are 8 hour or less in length. NON-ENDORSEMENT Instructors hired by CIT are employed because they have specialized skills or expertise which they are willing to share with the community.
