About the Program: The Westminster Graduate School of Theology(WGST) offers the Master s Degree in Global Rehabilitation Counseling for international students and domestic Korean students. The current Master s Degree program is designed to cultivate and educate professional rehabilitation counseling practitioners who provide expert rehabilitation and counseling services for people with disabilities/diseases. According to the World Health Organization(WHO), approximately 15 percent of the total world s population (roughly 1 billion people) have and suffer from some types of disabilities and diseases around the world. The primary goal of the program is to educate professional rehabilitation counseling practitioners and researchers who address disability-related societal issues and provide professional human services for people with disabilities/diseases over the world. More specifically, Rehabilitation Counseling(RC) is focused on helping people who have disabilities/diseases achieve their personal, career, and independent living goals through a counseling process. Rehabilitation Counselors can be found in private practice, in rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, universities, schools, government agencies, insurance companies and other organizations where people are being treated for congenital or acquired disabilities/diseases. Vision and Mission: The current Master s Degree program in Global Rehabilitation Counseling is designed on the basis of the following vision and mission. To educate professional rehabilitation counseling practitioners who possess expert knowledge and experience for people with disabilities/diseases. To educate professional rehabilitation counseling practitioners who possess multicultural perspectives through course activities with international students. To educate professional rehabilitation counseling practitioners who possess linguistic proficiency and ability through English course activities with international students.

Accreditation: Accredited by the Ministry of Education, South Korea Type of Degree: Master s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Type of Course: Regular Master-level Course Duration of Study: Four Regular Semesters(Two Regular Years) Total Credits for Graduation: 36 Hours/Credits The following coursework is tentative and could be changeable depending on the school policy or schedule. The following coursework is organized on the basis of regular standards and criteria proposed by the American Council on Rehabilitation Education(CORE) and the American Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification(CRCC). All of the classroom activities, assignments, presentations, examinations of each course will be conducted and performed in English. Admission: Qualification Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree or those who are expecting a Bachelor's Degree by the time they enroll in the WGST Deadlines The program receives applications from international and Korean students each Spring and Fall semesters. Please make sure that all applications should meet the deadlines for each semester. Applicants should mail all the following required materials to the Office of Registrar by the deadlines. The required applicant materials are as follows. 1. Completed Application Form (Download the Application Form) 2. Official transcripts and degree certificates authenticated by Korean Embassy official * Important Note: For academic degree certificates and transcripts inside of South Korea. the authentication is not necessary. All academic degree certificates and transcripts outside of South Korea must be authenticated(apostille) by the Korean Embassy. The authentication must include the followings: - Name of institution to issue academic degree certificate and transcript - Type of academic degree certificate such as Bachelor's degree - Type of institution such as 4-year or 2-year institution Applicants outside of South Korea should contact a local Korean Embassy in order to obtain the authentication. The authentication may be obtained via mail or visit. Please contact a local Korean Embassy to inquire the processes of the authentication. - ABOUT APOSTILLE - Required certificates such as degree Certificate or Documents certifying of expected Degree, Academic transcript should obtain an Apostille from Government authorities we designate. Apostille may be issued from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade In countries which are not signatories to the 1961 convention. If a country does not recognize the apostille, the documents must be authenticated by a Korean consular official in the country which issued the document.

For countries which join the Apostille Convention as a member, you should submit the Apostille confirmation letter after getting issued along with its original. (All official documents in private school and other certificates could be applied for Apostille confirmation after getting official endorsement). In this case, "consular confirmation" is not required. cf. An applicant outside of Korea should complete the application procedures at least two weeks before the semester begins. 2.
