No. 15/96) MADURAI, INDIA NARRATIVE REPORT JULY TO SEPTEMBER, 2018 OUR MISSION: Our mission is to create a better world through education and service in the realms of human life and environment. OUR VISSION: Our vision is to provide new horizons and open avenues to the underprivileged and deprived people of our society to live with dignity and self-respect. ACTIVITIES OF SEVAI SOCIETY: The SEVAI SOCIETY is working for the welfare of the poor people by running Schools, College, Children Hostels, Home for the Aged and Skill training centre. We also work for Environmental protection. The donations received from the funding agencies are used for various projects.
HALLELUAH CHILDREN HOSTEL, MADURAI: On 06.07.2018 VII th STD X th STD students did garden work during their free time. I V th STD students had drawing practice. Our students of VIII X STD had yoga class on 11.07.2018. Our Foreign Visitor Lara German also participated in this. On 17.07.2018 we had a small program for Lara German, who left the Hostel & India. On 26.07.2018 VII X th STD Kho -Kho girls got the runner-up in District level Kho Kho Match. I IX STD students had reading practoce to improve their knowledge on 27.07.2018. All our Hostel students had prepared for the I st Mid Term exam on 30.07.2018. Our I st Mid Term Exams ended on 03.08.2018. VII IX STD students to get the ideas about the cut the vegetables & How to cook. On 04.08.2018 XII th STD students participated in the computer class to develop computer knowledge; they also took part in Tailoring & Music class also. Dance practice was held on 08.08.2018 for I VI th STD Students. India s 72 nd Independence Day was celebrated on 15.08.2018 in our Hostel. All our girls had yoga class in our hostel on 29.08.2018. IX XII th STD students had computer practice on 07.09.2018. On 09.09.2017 Our Founder Fr Dr. S Ignacimuthu SJ s birthday was celebrated in
our Hostel. Quarterly Exam started on 10.09.2018 for all Students. On 22.09.2018 evening all the students went to their home for quarterly holidays. XAVIER MATRICULATION HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, MADURAI Volley Ball Open Tournament was held on 16.07.2018 at T.V.S. Sundaram Matric. Hr. Sec. School. In that our school Volley ball girls team had participated. On 19.07.2018 Zonal level Chess Competition was held at T.V.S. Matric. Hr. Sec. School. In that our School student S. Chitra Sena of V std got 2nd Prize and was selected for district level. On 25.07.2018 LKG XII STD students participated in Independence day Arts & Cultural Competitions were organized by Agaram Academy. Students bagged medals, special Prizes and our School won Special Trophy. From 23.07.2018 to 27.07.2018 I Midterm tests started for std X, XI, XII and K.G s. Zonal Level Senior Volley ball Girls match was held on 01.08.2018 in our school campus. In that our girls senior team got winner up. Zonal level boys and girls Throw ball match was held in our school Campus. Zonal level Carrom competition was held at A.C. School; in that our school students participated on 02.08.2018.
Kulanthaigal Jaipathu Nichayam short film was telecast on 04.08.2018 in our school premises. Students from 1st 12th std viewed the film. India s 72 nd Independence day was celebrated in our school campus. In that our students (L.K.G & U.K.G) performed Fancy dress competition. Dance, Drama, Speech, and Talent Show were performed by X, XI and IX Students. At the end of the program chocolates were distributed to the students. District level Kho Kho girls match was held at M.G.R. Stadium on 21.08.2018 In that our under 17 girls team got Runner up. Heavy rain and floods created havoc in Kerala in the first week of August 2018. On 27.08.2018 Relief materials were collected by students and were given to the people in Kerala. The relief material such as Detergent Powder and soap, Bathing Soap, Rice (Sealed Pack) Dhal (packed), Bed Sheet, Blanket, Pillow, Kids wear (New) Sarees (New) Dhoties,(New) Milk Powder, Kitchen Utensils, Napkins, Sweater, Mosquito coil, Biscuit Packets were given. These materials were packed and given to the District Educational Office, Melur as per the instruction.
Teachers day was celebrated on 05.09.2018 by the students. Students gave cultural programmes to entertain the teachers and Special programs were conducted by students such as Dance, Speech, Drama, Awareness Drama, Game show for teachers. The programme on Launching of Missile was conducted on 06.09.2018 by Ravens Connect Aeroclub (ED). A Tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was given to students in both practical and theoretical way; students made their own missile as per the instruction. Parent - Teacher Meeting was conducted on 22.09.2018 for the std X, XI, and XII Quarterly exam answer papers were handed over to the parents. BENEDICT MATRIC HR.SEC SCHOOL, THENI The teachers demonstrated to the students about the Good Touch & Bad Touch on 04.07.2018. Kg students benefitted were by knowing about this. Verb competition was conducted by our Principal on 11.07.2018 in our school decennium hall. In that, students from I to IX std participated. Scatting rally was conducted in our school on 15th August 2018. Our students took out scatting rally from Royappanpatty Church to our school. Kabadi tournament was
conducted in KLSS School. Our school students of class VII to XII participated. The senior category girls won in zone level match which was held on 23.08.2018 at KLSS school, Puthupatti. In district level, the same senior girls participated and they got runner-up place. Yoga competition was held on 25.08.2018 at Kovilpatty. Our school students participated and won the second place in overall school championship. Students from U.K.G to VIII Std got shield and participation Medals and Certificates. Our Founder Fr Ignacimuthu visited the school on 12.09.2018 and inspected the students education level and their skills. He inaugurated Paramapatham and Chess game. He appreciated the students who were playing the game. And he blessed and wished the X & XI & XII students who are appearing for the public examination.
BENEDICT CHILDREN HOSTEL, THENI Every day the hostel students wake up 5 O clock in the morning. They will do yoga in the morning and they will study upto 7 O and every Saturday 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm the students will do their own interested activity like drawing, clay modeling, etc MARY MATHA PRIMARY AND HIGH SCHOOL, TRICHY: On 31.08.2018 the school Annual day function was celebrated at school campus. Chief Guests Mr Gerald, S.A. and Muruganantham & AMMAN GROUPS, Trichy ( Amman Try Pvt Ltd, Nagamangalam ) came & celebrated the Annual day. Prizes were distributed to the students who are won in various competitions. Finally cultural program was performed by students. On 05.09.2018 Teachers day was celebrated. On 08.09.2018 School feast was celebrated in the name of Mary Matha and sweets were distributed to the students.
First Mid Term exams were held from 12.09.2018 to 22.09.2018. From 23.09.2018 to 03.10.2018 school was closed for quarterly holidays. A new van was purchased with 25 seated capacity. During every working day 40 students are enjoying the travel. This new van enabled the rural children to reach the school in time and also return to house soon after the classes are over.
WENDALINUM CHILDREN HOSTEL, TRICHY Students are very happy to stay in this hostel & study well. Drawing Competition was conducted for children. In the Evening Time & Weekends they play the running, Kho- Kho, Carrom and Chess. MID DAY MEAL PROGRAM AT MARY MATHA SCHOOL, TRICHY: In all working days all the students are provided with nutritious meals. It supports their activities both in the school and after school. On 22.08.2018 & 19.09.2018 Egg with meal was given to all the students.
MOTHER MARY HOME FOR THE AGED, T. SINDALACHERRY: There are 29 elderly inmates presently staying and benefiting from this home. They are very happy and feel peaceful to receive support from our home. This home reduces their existing problems. They have good food, spacious hospitality & comfort to stay in this home. MOTHER THERESA SKILL TRAINING CENTRE, T. SINDALAICHERRY, Theni: There are 15 Students who come and take the Sewing Training. They are getting enough training and more experience from this centre. St MOTHER THERESA INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL, T. SINDALAICHERRY, Theni: On 15.08.2018 India s 72 nd Independence Day was celebrated in our school. Industrial school Academic year 2018-2019 started on 06.08.2018.There are 4 students who are studying in our Industrial School. Students are getting the Workshop training in the Workshop Practical Hours.
MOTHER THERESA COLLEGE (ARTS & SCIENCE) AT SINDALACHERRY, THENI This college is planned for the benefit of the rural poor students who have no chance to go for college education to far away places. The Government of Tamil Nadu has granted permission to start the college. It will begin in June 2019.
