PROGRAM OVERVIEW Intensive Hospitality English Language Program Our Intensive Hospitality English Language Program (IHELP) focuses on intensive English learning while also teaching students important hospitality industry terminology and knowledge. We offer this program to students who need help to fulfil the entry requirements of the Bachelor s or MSc programs at Glion Institute of Higher Education. Our experienced teachers tailor the course to individual student needs to improve their English grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading and writing. PROGRAM CHOICES: IHELP 15 LONDON 2019 Students can undertake the IHELP 15 in London and on fulfilling the BBA or MSc entrance requirements, continue their studies in London or in Switzerland. If a Bachelor applicant completes IHELP 15 in London and achieves the English level required to study in the United Kingdom the student must complete semester 1 in Switzerland, and return to London in Semester 3 for the Bachelor s program. IHELP 15 How it Works All candidates Intakes: Spring and Fall 2019 Location: London, United Kingdom Duration: 15 weeks Hours per week: on average, 23 classroom hours plus 15-20 hours of independent learning 15-week course for Bachelor candidates: designed for students who have min. IELTS 4.5 overall (min. 4.0 in every Bachelor applicants in the 15 week IHELP must achieve min. IELTS 5.5 overall (min. 5.0 in every subcomponent) at the end of the program to progress onto the Bachelor s program at Glion Institute of Higher Edcation in Switzerland or London, UK. For London, non-eu or EEA passport holders will need to undertake IELTS UKVI: 5.5 overall (min. 5.5 in every subcomponent). 15-week course for MSc candidates: designed for students who have min. IELTS 5.0 overall (min. 4.5 in every MSc applicants in the 15 week IHELP must achieve min. IELTS 6.0 overall (min 5.5 in every subcomponent) at the end of the program to progress onto the MSc program at Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland or London, UK. For London, non-eu or EEA passport holders will need to undertake IELTS UKVI: 6.0 overall (min. 5.5 in every sub-component). Visa process for non-eu or EEA passport holders: Applicants who do not hold an EU or EEA passport can apply for a Short Term Study Visa (STSV) to enroll on the IHELP 15. To obtain a study visa in order to progress to the Bachelor s or MSc program, support will be provided through the onsite immigration surgery. LONDON CAMPUS Your Gateway to London in a Big University The Downshire building of Glion London is located at the University of Roehampton (UoR). Inside this small community, you will feel at home with a friendly group of passionate hospitality students and faculty members. GLION CAMPUS A Hotel School on Top of the World Glion is the flagship campus and practical learning center. From the classrooms and restaurants, you can gaze across the deep blue waters of Lake Geneva to see the Swiss and French Alps. It s located on the mountainside above Montreux, a town that attracts tourists year-round with a beautiful lakeside and shopping district. English level: IELTS min. 5.0 overall (min. 4.5 in every All Equivalent English certificates such as Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted on application and all English certificates must have been issued in the last 12 months prior to admission. Must hold a valid passport. Nationals of any country can apply and follow the required process for obtaining a visa. IHELP 6 Switzerland Bachelor Must be 17 years and 3 months old or above. IHELP 15 LONDON FEES Program Fees* Accommodation: Accommodation in London is available for students in addition to program fees. Fees Include: 15-Week Program (GBP) Tuition fees 7,000 Learning resources 290 Total 7,290 Chadwick Hall (next to Downshire House): 2,595-2,670 GBP depending on room type Fees Do Not Include: Pocket money, laundry costs, visa fees, accommodation, board (including food), airport transfers in home country and flights. Exam fees for IELTS test at the end of the 15 week IHELP. Please note: in case of cancellation, we will refund the total amount of the program if the cancellation is made 14 days or more prior to the start of the program in writing to the Admissions Department. 50% of the full amount will be refunded if cancellation occurs up to 14 days before the start of the program. No refund will apply if the student does not attend or start on the first day of the course without cancelling beforehand.
