Page 2 VI. SOME NICE THINGS HAPPENING (2 ATTACHMENTS) There are many programs in which our schools participate and receive little or no recognition outside of a particular building. Occasionally, the Superintendent will present as an agenda item, Some Nice Things Happening in Our Schools. (See attachments.) 1. Ed Mizinski Save It or Shave It Fundraiser RHS star athlete, graduate, coach, teacher and retiree of Roseville Community Schools was instrumental in raising over $4,500.00 for charity. On September 22, 2017 during half-time of the Varsity Football game, his iconic mustache was shaved off and the money raised was donated to the RHS athletic program. 2. Several student athletes from Kaiser Elementary, Roseville Middle School and Roseville High School competed in the Michigan Special Olympics held at Central Michigan University from June 1-3, 2017. The student athletes along with their sponsors being honored tonight are: Kaiser Elementary School Heaven Friant Roseville Middle School Faith Dagnall, Di Michael Snider, Denzel Thompson Roseville High School Christian Suessine, Ian Roy Sponsors Tracy Allen, Scott Parsons, Cindy Peters The Board of Education and Central Administrators would like to thank Ed for his generous contribution. They would also like to congratulate Heaven, Faith, Di Michael, Denzel, Christian and Ian as well as Ms. Allen, Mr. Parsons and Ms. Peters tonight for their hard work, dedication and their excellent representation of Roseville Community Schools. VII. ACCOLADE FOR YEARS OF SERVICE The Roseville Board of Education would like to take this opportunity to express its appreciation to Claudia Varblow for over six (6) decades of service to the students of Roseville Community Schools.
