Johnson County Community College Transfer Program to the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Liberal Arts 2018-2019 Catalog Contact: University Advising Phone: 785-864-3500 Email: advising@ku.edu Home Page: collegeadvising.ku.edu The Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the A.A. may select courses that satisfy both the A.A. degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor s degree at four-year institutions. The 33 hours of electives within the A.A. allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The A.A. degree requires completion of 60 credit hours. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences: KU s largest academic unit with53 departments and programs. The minimum number of hours for a is 120. Pass/Fail Policy: Allowed for courses not in the major or minor. Not allowed for courses listed in the KU catalog under requirements for the Major: for each specific major. Students should be aware that some scholarship committees and honorary societies do not accept this grading system and convert grades of No Credit to F when computing grade point averages. Transfer Grades of D : Not accepted toward any degree in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences:, or BS. NOTE: Classes may count for a major requirement and a core requirement but may NOT count for 2 different core requirements. It is the STUDENT S RESPONSIBILITY to check for updates to all transfer information. This transfer program is provided as a service and is updated annually. Degree requirements at the four-year colleges are subject to change by those institutions. Updated 9/18 1

Liberal Arts Requirements The courses listed below are REQUIRED for degrees from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The advanced education goals are most appropriately acquired using the foundation of knowledge gained from the general education goals and progression through the major. Courses can be used to satisfy one Core goal at a time, but may satisfy a major requirement and a core goal.
